Fred Phelps and his lovely daughter are there, along with a motley bunch of neo-nazi and Muslin extremists.
Can't say I'm unhappy that any of them won't be able to enjoy our crappy weather and bad food.
If only they could get Madonna and Bono on that list somehow

I don't listen to Savage...he's a bit too...well.... savage and crude for my taste...:eh: so that puts him on some countries list of 'do not enter? Wow...Europe has really begun to swirl the bowl folks. Sad...very sad.
Obama, Pelosie, Reid want to curb what can be said to the American public and by the American people by altering Free Speech...aligning himself even more closely to his precious Europe.....hmmmmm...... now that's a fight I am more then willing to join!

Savage is no where in the same league as the others on the list.
His views are really no different than Hannity and Rush, he was singled out for his rough around the edges shtick.
If you can ban Savage for sharing his opinion, then Hannity and Rush sure as hell can be banned as well.
It's a sad day for western civilization.

Savage has, in the past, made his feelings about Europe quite clear. It is somewhat passive-aggressive to put him on a watch list, but at least he's not on the standing arrest warrant list. If they were really out to get him it would be more efficient to just invite him to the country to do his show and then arrest him after for inciting the inevitable riot.

Different cultures. Here in America, Savage is just another loon. But some of the things he says can be very, very offensive to a different culture. Savage being his typical self would be akin to screaming fire in a crowded theater.
I'm not familiar with european talk shows, but I imagine some of their hosts might receive an equally bad reception here.

I'm not surprised at the UK banning Savage. They're just following in the footsteps of their buddies in the EU. Remember that in Germany just showing a Nazi symbol can get you in trouble. Don't forget that just for denying the holocaust is against the law in some countries. French actress Brigitte Bardot was recently fined for merely stating her opinions on Muslims in France, and she was fined for a "racist book" several years ago.
Savage may be a little over the edge, but he is entitled to his opinions.
And I find it interesting that the people who use the term "hate speech" forget one thing. Hate speech, as despicable as it is, is protected by the First Amendment. It's also noteworthy that the left doesn't seem to regard the recent rants by Perez Hilton and Jeanane Garofolo as hate speech.

Free Speech hurts liberals. Why do you hate free speech. Do you listen to savage? If you hate him so much why do you listen to him? Did he hurt you in any ways? Did he tax you? Did he do anything that will affect you? please list

Guess you missed what Muslims have been doing in Europe. You wanna see hate speech and violence? Google the problem with Muslims in Europe and what those people are saying.

Good greif, allowing someone to host a radio talk show that millions find entertaining is NOT the equivalent of sreaming 'Bomb' on a plane.
Get real.

I don't know a blessed thing about this Savage guy.
But I do find this story interesting (I read it earlier in the day). One of the first things I did on my first trip to England over 20 years ago, was to go to Speaker's Corner. It was my understanding that you could say anything there, as long as you stood on something (a box, a step stool, whatever) so your feet weren't touching the soil. I thought it was absolutely fascinating; almost performance art...but inspiring, too.
On the one hand, it's kind of sad that the spirit that gave birth to Speaker's Corner has died a little. On the other hand, I do believe a society has a right to determine who and what they will and will not allow into their country. And when they do so, it gives great insight for the rest of the world as to what they value, don't you think?

There are times when we as a society have decided that total unabashed free speech is not the greatest idea...and I think the courts have ruled this way as well.

Savage is loving this, this has given him oodles of publicity, he is now being discussed on other talk radio shows. He could not have paid for publicity like this.

My initial support for Michael Savage on this issue is tempered by the fact he has launched into an attack on the FOX News Network because Fox broadcasters have not devoted network coverage to the topic of his UK ban. That is a sure sign Savage is a cheap tawdry opportunist.

And the SCOTUS has interpreted the First Amendment.
Hate speech is protected.
Speech which poses a "clear and present danger" may not be. (Cf. Schenck v. United States)

HUH? You think what Savage says is akin too screaming Fire in a crowed theater? Really?...O.K. I'll bite....I want Proof please...how many people have been trampled to death due to Savages words...How many died ? None? Hmmmm...well then tell me how many Savage has killed in lame type stunts as screaming Fire in crowed theaters in Europe? Hell...anywhere at this point would at least prove the guy is out to 'kill' with words.
Savage is not PC...yeah...so? People hear the words of someone's opinion and they loose face or fear they will become the transparent fools that they are to the greater public. Meaning...they don't want to answer questions...they don't want the public asking questions...and most of all...they want to keep a one way status quo to keep the populace in line. Well gee...ain't that nice?
Europe is..and will continue to become a nightmare experiment in modern socialism. I say good luck with that...but don't push it here...I'll take little men like Savage on their worsts days...and still smile for the freedom of speech that My country upholds and honors.
One more side note...I've never been to Europe...have you? Unless you've been there...visited there...we can't know what 'they' want or believe in Europe can we? All we hear are talking heads on the evening news...which is far from reality.
