I am not sure if this is a good place to post this. Please move if it is not. But, I have no idea if anyone who works for this board can guide me here, so I figured I would "talk to the moderators".

Here is the short version:

My daughter is a Catholic High School student. She needed to be tested for a learning disability. The Parochial schools don't do it, so a local public school district handles the evaluations.

She went today to the district office. In the room where she was being evaluated, the evaluator had Obama posters all over the place. Not the main problem, but annoying and probably a violation.

He proceeded to ask her if she knows about Darwinism. What does this have to do with an evaluation? THEN, he proceeded to preach to her, telling her that a fetus is not a life. It is a clump of cells. He continued on a pro-abortion lecture!

I don't know what to do. I have a feeling that this was all because she is from a Catholic School. Others get evaluated all the time and I assume that she is not the first, or the last. If Sean's producers monitor this board, or if anyone knows how to get in touch with them, or if the mods are able to contact those who run this board, please PM me. I think this is worth an investigation and someone like Sean is one of the few media folk who would even give that consideration.

Again, I only posted this here in case the mods have any access to anyone involved with Sean's show. I am new around here and I don't want to break the rules, so please move it (or delete it) if it is inappropriate.

Thanks,

Rick

Have you contacted this person's supervisor or the school board directly? As far as contacting Sean:

No I have not, as of yet. I just learned about this at dinner an hour ago.

Thank you so, so much for the link. I am going to contact my daughter's principal before I contact that guys supervisor. I am also going to call the Catholic League tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Clearly unprofessional behavior. You need to talk to this man's supervisor, and ask about the standards of LD interviews. I really don't think that qualifies.

This is a violation of professional teaching standards. Depending on where you live, the state education agency most likely has a clearly stated code of professional conduct. I cannot imagine that there is any state where this would not be considered a violation of such standards.

I am a public school teacher in Texas. I am a moderate liberal and if I ever engaged in this sort of unethical and dangerous behavior (of course I would not, because I'm a professional, a good teacher and I keep my opinions to myself because they're mine...but just for the sake of argument...)I would be summarily dismissed for violation of ethical standards.

Your idea about going to your daughter's school adminstrator is a good one, this person will know what channels to go through and will take the steps necessary to make sure the offending party is approrpriately disciplined and hopefully reassigned. Your administrator will also take steps to make sure that this is handled in such a way that it is never repeated.

There are days when I am proud to stand up and say I am a teacher and spend my days among schoolchildren, and there are days when I am ashamed for the misguided ignoramuses such as this teacher.

Good luck with your pursuit of this.
