April 29 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama marked his 100th day in office by telling Americans that “we’ve begun the work of remaking America.”
The president, speaking at a town hall meeting in the St. Louis suburb of Arnold, Missouri, said that while the U.S. still faces challenges in recovering from a recession, the country is making progress.
“We have begun to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off,” Obama said. “I’m pleased with the progress we’ve made, but I’m not satisfied. I’m confident in the future, but I’m not content with the present.”

Damn Straight. There are more businesses for the government to take over. More freedoms to try and intimidate. More people to drive into joblessness. And don't forget those coal industries you drive out of business!

And he stands there and smiles and takes the credit....
Does it take a great man to take from peter to give to paul?
Maybe if he recognized the burden he put on petrer to make paul happy, I can give him a little credit.
But instead, he takes from peter and lets his people call peter unpatrioitc if peter questions why...then gives to paul and lets paul believe that peter is evil...and then lets paul thank HIM and not peter for the help.
Liberals...argue this if you wish....but please tell me exactly when he let the people know that America should recognize and appreciate the burden all of us "Peters" are taking on for HIS agenda that he is getting credit for?
THAT would make him a President for ALL the poeple. Until you are the President for ALL the people, you can never be considered a great President.

Yes.
Remaking automakers (with confidant Pelosi) where he attacks the automakers that make military-derived vehicles because he attacks anything supportive of the military.

President Obama needs the change we can believe in. He needs to learn humility and grace that are the hallmarks of a great leader which he has a short supply of.

Elections have consequences. The consequence of this one is the undoing of what the Founding fathers accomplished.

So far I have poo pooed the idea of a modern secession and rebellion, while defending my ancestors right to do what they did.
I aint so skeptical any more.

I welcome those who can name supposed leaders who attempted to change and/or remake their country that ended up either in disgrace or failure.

In 300 years, we have become a greater country than any other has in thousands of years.
Mistakes? We made a few. But to change it?
Why?

The whole "remaking America" statement is just profoundly insulting to our 230 years of history as a country and our evolution as a society. Mainstream America will eventually see through his charade, though it may take a couple of years.

Yeah... I just wish somone would have the guts to ask Obama the same question.
I sent the exact question to Shumer and Clinton last year in October when "change" was the mantra on the campaign trail.
The answer from Schumer?
"We are receiving many emials and letters expressing concerns and ideas and it will take time for me to get back to you. You will hear from me within 6 weeks"
Still waiting Chuck.....6 months later.
As for Hillary?
No response at all.

You actually heard from Schumer and it didn't say anything about being a member of the "chattering classes"...impressive.
As for Hillary her staff is still trying to find the right words for it...especially after that whole "reset" button incident.

Every person I know who sent Hillary an email back in October and November did NOT receive a response.
Anyone who says she did not know she was going to no longer be a senator back in October is lying to you. She stopped interacting with her constituants once the results of the election were obvious.

My opinion since you asked, the First 100 days, hummmm...HA! Well folks voted for change right? So now we all PC, right? So ya think its all ok now? HaHa!! Does everybody all have a roll model now? This all reminds me of that movie by Steve King, "The Storm of The Century" with the evil guy Andre Linoge who keeps saying, "just give me what I want and I'll go away".
I cant believe that the folks who grew up away from and sheltered from hardship and struggle are really that stupid. Look, Guess What people, it dont work that way, News flash Nope it dont just go away!! Why because it's never enough!!! The more you feed the BS the more it grows and wants. Then you pay with the ultimate sacrifices and then it still dont go away it just moves and grows and wants more and more and more!
Some folks use the excuse that the Repubs. were spending too much so they flipped and voted for "change" to teach the Repubs. a lesson...HaHaHaHa!!!!! What a LIE! So hows that Gov. spending looking to ya now???
Many folks voted to be PC and make it all warm and cozy. HaHaHaHa.....What idiots. Talk about spending too much,hummmm...life lessons. Let me take a look at my crystal ball and I'll tell ya what you should have been taught by your parents and grandparents.. The spending only gets bigger and bigger and the mess is going to get bigger and bigger and the machine takes and takes and takes.... and then it poops on its mess and doesn't want it anymore.
Just sharing my opinion....
When I was a kid I'd look out the window (in the apartment we lived in in Newark, NJ) and I used to wonder why those folks living in those safe suburbs and in cozy little towns far far away wouldn't believe (refused to believe) there were people like us struggling to survive in an inner city.

I need to correct your fist line Tricia.....please do not be offended....
People voted for change...yes....but his mantra all along was "Change in the way Washington does things"....he never said he waqs going to change America.
He is disingenuous now when he says "I told people I would change America and they elected me knowing this"...
He said he was going to change Washington...like no m,ore lobbyists in the WH....lie...like no more earmarks....lie.....like new faces and new ideas.....lie.
No...he never said he was going to change America. He is lying now when he says that was his platform and people voted for it.

Unfortunately there are childish republicans/conservatives/whatever who do that "Let's teach the republicans a lesson" crap. I've heard them call Rush for years.
They voted for Perot or Clinton in 1992 to get back at Bush for breaking his promise and again in 1996.
I heard the same crap in 2006 and 8. There are some big babies that don't care about the country. They care that they "aren't getting their way" and they think "teaching the country/whatever" a lesson is the way to go.

and another thing I just dont understand, is why are our Politicans allowed to stay in office sooooo long. This man Arlen from my home state PA is really a very good example of this. Look, if you are collecting Social Security or are of age 70 or over or whatever the age req. is now.. then you should be forced to retire!!! Why wont these folks open up the way for the guys coming up begind them! If you are a Politician and are over 72 you should be forced to retire....
A person who has been holding office for like 40 years is waaay tooo in deep to make any decisions that are in the interest of the people.
Also i think I'm really liking this Young Politician Paul Ryan, he's quick with a reply (and who ever goes at the O in 2012) has to be sharp with a response and a fighter. If you aint gonna get in and fight then you will not win 2012... sometimes the playing nicey nice has to stop.
Also my daughter says he's really dreamy! And ya know I took a look Its true he really is cute. And he's a Roman Catholic, and a family guy, amd a quick talker, he reminds me of JFK, three kids, I'm in Heaven and so's Grandma she wants to cook for him.

Norman Matton Thomas (November 20, 1884 - December 19, 1968) was a leading American socialist, pacifist, and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America. He was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1911. As a candidate for President of the U. S., Norman Thomas said, in a 1944 epoch speech: "The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism", they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." He went on to say: "I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.."

Someone once asked me what the difference between a socialist and a liberal was.
I answered: "The socialist will admit it!"
That's all that needs to be said.

Disregards the Constitution.
Supports killing unborn chldren.
Supports breeding embryos for stem cell research.
Makes the same comparison regarding the rich versus the poor as Stalin made.
Makes the same promises in regards to the poor getting some of what the rich earned as Stalin made.
Is attempting redistribution of wealth.
Has started government run industry.
Is for government growth.
Supports secretive Congress.
Is supporting the coverup of the Finance Committee's participation in the fall of the American economy.
Has a 'hate' list of people who refuse his demands and/or don't support his policies that is growing with every speech he makes.
Is reputed to have put us more into debt then all past administrations combined.
And now he would remake America into the Democratic image, and he is going to do it with our money.
And the naysayers in MY party say we should remake ourselves into a version closer to what the left believes in order to get the votes and rebuild our party..
I have to ask the question: Why would we want to be like these people?
