So last week the transmission finally died in my old Dodge. After 280,000 miles and $1700.00 Send off I put in a new one and the truck I have come to really really like was good as new!
Today, on my way to Colstrip to look at a job I am in Sheridan Wyoming stopping for gas and some gal with a cell phone jammed in her ear and brain, whips out of a Taco Johns lot, dodges a semi truck and t-bones me...
Busted the rear axle and put the first real dents in my wonderful truck.
So it is in the shop, I am in a Day's Inn and just got the call from the repair shop. $2650.00...
It is a darn good thing she has insurance.
My poor truck!

Almost like one of your kids being hurt, isn't it? I had an 97 S-10 truck, 330K, going strong. I was heading to my mom's, it was just past midnight on Christmas morning, and a Jimmy full of Mexicans just decided to turn in front of me. Killed my truck and I was ****ed. The best part was that a police officer witnessed the accident and I got to see the knucklehead driver go bye bye for No License. The wild part was that the nimrod actually had insurance.

Just me, the motel room and some Moose Drool, it is the only thing I could find to make me feel a bit better...

NO DL, but had insurance? Yep that is darn weird.
Yes it is.
The only face saving is that her airbag did so much cosmetic damage to her face I could not be mad at her. She is going to be explaining to people for weeks that she does not have an abusive hubby...
I have not ever seen two more perfect black eyes.
I feel bad for her, but man I have to admit that I felt somewhat better after I realized she was actually ok, just bruised really good.
Them airbags are no joke.

Sorry to hear about your truck, Cav. Glad nobody was seriously injured.
My hubby's 1997 Ford 4x4 diesel has over 350,000 miles and is still going strong. I pray nothing happens to Big Red for at least a year. Right now there is absolutely no way we could replace it.

Thank you. While we are on the topic, how is your son and did you ever find out the zip code of the area where your son goes to treatment?
