hi guys. I guess I have "mild" asthma for the first time in my life. I am 36,non-smoker.

Out of shape? Yes...however 2 days ago till now I have had a very hard time breathing and especially inhaling and feeling like I have gotten enough air.

I also have GERD/ACID REFLUX and at the moment Sinusitis.

I guess these are all related.I am on an inhaler for the first time.

I plan on losing weight and eating better, exercising etc etc etc...

Can any of you tell me if you have the similar hard time breathing symptoms like I have? (for days now)....

I'm hoping this inhaler helps.

p.s.- If any of you do have asthma-when you have a sinus infection, does your asthma become a lot worse?

thanks,Kevin.

A relative of mine has this problem. She does suffer from frequent sinus infections, too, for which she's having surgery in a few weeks. Some sort of sinus clearing thing.

Currently, she uses a nebulizer whenever she has trouble breathing, but we've had many a visit to the E.R. over asthma.

By the way, it's frequently aggravated by the three cats. If you have allergies, stay on Zyrtec or Claritin.

You should definitely ask your doctor/pharmacist first, but my relative does take both right now.

I take Symbicort, which has steroids.

Ever since I've been on it, I've been gaining weight and find it almost impossible to lose. (dammit)

how long does it take an inhaler to work once you spray it? minutes? seconds?

I have asthma and for years I argued with my allergist about it. He told me I had it, but I never felt the out of control "wheezing" that had always been described to me. My allergist always told me he had a scientific test that said that indeed I do have asthma. And I am amazed at how much better I feel since I've been taking Advair. My problem, as I said was never the wheezing, but when I do get sick, it always goes straight to my lungs, typically building into a bronchitis type situation. I have an emergency inhaler, but I never use it. Talk to your doc about Advair or similar meds....

Don't mess with this, go see a Doctor and ask them, please. I've had resperitory problems, no fun at all, best of luck to you, I mean that. Now get going to the Doctor if your not any better!

always use the rescue inhaler at first sign of compromised breathing. It reduces the likelihood that you will experience complications. Sounds like allergies to me, specifically because of the sudden onset of symptoms? By all means, check with your doctor, though.

My son has done extremely well with singulair. He was also on zyrtec at one time - this worked well for him as well. Relieving the "trigger" - in his case allergies, is essential in controlling asthma.

Sinusitis is awful, I am prone to it myself. I haven't noticed it worsening my asthma symptoms per se, but it is worse when my allergies are acting up - the allergies may also be aggravating your asthma.

take care!
