Well not quite. But this story reminded me of an old SNL skit Chevy Chase used to do.
Land shark.
But this time it's alligator looking for love in all the wrong places.:D
Alligator winds up on woman's doorstep (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30394218/)
TAMPA, Fla. - Florida alligators are known to roam in springtime when they search for mates, but a Tampa woman was mystified to find one parked on her doorstep.
Belinda Donaldson got a call Thursday morning from a neighbor who warned her to stay inside because an 11-foot alligator was lounging on her front stoop. She looked out the window and there it was, just outside her door.
Donaldson said alligators sometimes wander away from one of the many lakes in her suburban neighborhood of tidy lawns and neat, single-story homes just west of Tampa, but she'd never seen one that big.
A trapper struggled for an hour to bind its jaws with a loop of rope on the end of a stick before getting the 400- to 500-pound reptile tied up and hauling it away in a truck.
Another reason to always check who is there before opening the door.

I wonder if her boss bought that excuse. "Sorry, I can't come into work today, there's an alligator on my doorstep."

Probably so.
Areas like Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama are rich with stories of wayward alligators. Spring comes and the males loose all sense of fear when looking for love.
A co-worker of mine had an 8' gator show up in her flower bed.
In MS when they have a really big one lose his direction and put people in danger they kill them because they have a tendency to show up in the same area again in a few weeks. An 11' gator that showed up on someone's doorstep would fit the criteria here.
I'm surprised that this one was relocated.

We have them here but nothing like you do in a more arid climate.
I don't know...alligator...rattlesnake.
I think I'll opt for the alligators. You get a bit more of a heads up with a large animal.
Snakes can be sneaky.:D

I don't like them any better. My daughter almost stepped right on one last year when she walked out the door. 11 rattles and a button on that on. Not the biggest one we've had. I thought the cats were raising havoc on the porch wanting in one day and since I didn't want them in the house at the time I didn't bother to open the door to let them in or yell at them to knock it off. Good thing too. It wasn't the cats, it was a bear.

We don't get bears. We do get coyotes (lots of coyotes, and they don't shut up) and the occasional big!cat. The only rattlesnakes I've seen are squished in the middle of road, though I suppose that means there are live ones around.
