I honestly rarely notice people's status. If they post they are here. If they read as a guest or read invisible but don't post(aka lurking to some)then they do.

I stay invisible because I am aware some people check to see where you are on the board,if you are PMing etc. I find it creepy so I just avoid that issue. Mods aside who can see all. ;)

but I always check the “Currently Active Users” box at the bottom of the page

to see who’s in here besides me.


I’ve noticed that more and more of us have gone to invisible mode…


and, the other night, I was thinking back to earlier times when almost nobody used invisible mode

and how happy I was when I’d see so many of my friends’ names appear in the “Currently Active Users” box.


That night, while I was still “invisible”, I was in here by myself when Blazer’s name appeared in the “Currently Active Users” box.

Before I could say “hi”, she left. If she had seen my name in the CAU box, she probably would have stayed awhile...

and, believe me, when you’re in here by yourself, you want someone to drop in and stay awhile.


ETA: Earlier today, I saw that, besides myself, there were six signed-on members indicated in the “Currently Active Users” box.

Every single one of these other six were on invisible mode.


I stay invisible because I am aware some people check to see where you are on the board, if you are PMing etc. I find it creepy so I just avoid that issue. Mods aside who can see all. ;)


I understand that there are good reasons for some folks to stay on invisible mode.

I understand and see your reasoning Billy but in truth I actually like the privacy tab we have under user cps. One reason. Stalkers of varying types. I also had another guest who is a foe of mine negatively question aspects of my profile when I left for a break from here. Now the only ones who can see my information are those I choose to share it with here and of course Mods. I appreciate that feature. If and when the tracking feature is removed saying what I am doing is removed I may go visible. Until then,nope.

And as a matter of fact Firewatch the Mod here keeps himself invisible so I guess it does serve a purpose even for him.

I've never had a problem at this website. The mods here are over the top the best I've seen running a board.

But as a precaution I stay on the invisible, now don't laugh, after a really horrific experience at a pet chat website where someone targeted me and well lets just say it was a nightmare.
