I wanted to help raise awareness of a debilitating disease.
I have just found out that my childhood and lifelong friend is in the final stages of Huntington's Disease. I had never heard of this debilitating disease until just two days ago. At this point there is no cure.
I am going to Florida today to visit him before he passes.
If you know anyone that has this disease please extend your helping hand.

Huntington's is an inherited disease thst remains dormant til about the age of 40.
Woody Guthry died of Huntington's and his son Arlo did not get himself tested (there would be no way of preventing its onset).

Thanks BOW.
I jumped in my truck on Friday and drove 14 hours straight to see my friend this weekend with another childhood friend.
It was the most surreal experience of my life.
I now know that life it to short to sit idle and let it go by. From this point forward I am grabbing it by the horns!

Good for you. It does put it all in perpsective. Many of the things we worry or fret about on a daily basis are meaningless. We are here a very, very short time. We should be thankful to the Lord and enjoy as much of it as we can.
Huntington's is a terrible disease. I am glad you had the opportunity to visit with him before his passing. May God life your heart and your friend's as well.

I am so sorry for your friend. Huntington's is a horrible disease. I have a friend who's husband has it. I am amazed by how strong she is.

It was so great to know even though his body is giving out he still had the capacity to know who I am and give me a hug and tear up when I left. I did not want to leave him behind.

Just spoke to the RN and she told me that Keith has been gliding on cloud 9 since we went down. So happy to hear that.
