I watched the thing on DVD a couple nights ago and was skeptical after seeing the promo for it during the last episode of BSG. The promo made the thing look like the WB with sixteen year old girls running through clubs.

I was wrong. The thing was awesome, rife with religious themes and ethical dilemmas concerning life, death and technology. It's a shame I have to wait until 2010 to see the actual episodes, as the DVD was only a 90 minute pilot.

Ron Moore does not disappoint. Hopefully he doesn't get his own cult like Joss Wheedon does with the uppity Buffy/Angel fans and Firefly/Serenity.

So I'm guessing you have lost all respect for Ron D. Moore?

I enjoyed Caprica a great deal. As a fan of BSG's composer, Bear McCreary, I was happy to hear that he included a few of the more memorable musical cues from earlier show.

Since I haven't seen an episode of BSG since Season 3, I didn't even know Razor existed till late last year. And now to hear of a spinoff series? Good. Interested. don't spoil anything yet. :)

You don't have to worry about "catching up". The series are independent and you don't have to see one to understand the other. Luckily there is plenty of time, as the other episodes for this baby don't come out until 2010.

Uppity?! :hand:

While Angel wasn't as good as the others it was still good. Firefly was great and I can only imagine how much greater it would have been if it had received network support instead of the trashing it got.

After buying the DVD a month ago, I finally got around to watching it last night.

I was pretty impressed. Not bad for a pilot.

Look forward to the series in January.
