So much came out about this woman and her son after she asked Obama for a house.
A house she got...temporarily...not from Obama but from a Republican politician instead.
Looks like she and her son will be sleeping in their car again very soon.

(CNN) -- The homeless Florida woman who made a tearful plea for help from President Obama earlier this year is still jobless and might be homeless again.
Henrietta Hughes caught the nation's attention in February when she asked for help during one of Obama's town hall meetings.
After her plea, Hughes was given a free home to live in temporarily. But she is still struggling to find a job and might soon lose that home, CNN television affiliate WINK reported Thursday.
Hughes, who is in her 60s, goes to an employment center in Fort Myers in hopes of finding a job.
"It's almost our second home," Hughes told WINK.
She and her son have taken a computer class at the center to help land work. Hughes said she has applied for as many jobs as possible but has struck out. Her son has had no luck either.
Now Hughes says time is running out. The home she lives in was donated by the wife of a Florida lawmaker. Once the house sells, Hughes will have to leave.
Hughes worries that she could end up living in her car again.

Maybe he will appoint her to a cabinet position. I'm sure she's at least as intelligent as some of the idiots he already has working for him. :boohoo:

That won't happen. You have to have a job so you can fail to pay taxes on the income before you're eligible for a job in with Team Obama.

I wonder whatever became of the woman who said "I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage or putting gas in my car.... if I help him he's gonna help me."

She's probably living in a cardboard box down by the river since her home and car have been repossed by the lein holders.

I find it funny how people always read over the "worry about" part of that statement. The woman didn't say Obama was going to pay her mortgage or gas.
It's like inferring that John McCain is going to feed you upon hearing "If I vote for McCain, I won't have to worry about putting food on the table."

Maybe you should read where she's been trying to but hasn't any success yet.

Yeah, at least she is trying to get a job, there's not much out there.
Why won't Bammy make her mortgage payment until she gets a job?

Maybe she should try harder.
Or it could be she really hasn't tried at all.
Her claiming that she has applied for one job after another means nothing. She proved her credibility to be somewhat more than lacking a while back.
If you will recall there was information that came out about her that proved she is less than honest.

But then most scam artists are dishonest.
This woman has been playing the system for a while.

There are those in our society who will play upon soft hearts in order to reap rewards that are far from earned. Far to many have played this soft shoe number to receive benefits, good and services. Far to many in our society feel entitled to be taken care of by our government instead of taking care of themselves. It has created an issue so large and filled with mine field topics that no politician in his or her right mind would touch the subject openly. :silenced:
I have no sympathy for those who won't help themselves. This woman receives SSDI..which is more then enough for her to eat and live upon. She may not be living the lifestyle of the rich and famous...but she isn't starving and or without means either.

that is not the job of government. If you have an issue, why don't YOU give her the money for her morgage and stop looking at everyone else.

Do you have a job?
Do you?
In 1985 when the oil field work in the lower 48 had gone almost completely bust and their was an out of work welder under every tree I got work welding right after I graduated trade school, see I just decided to go to the job instead of waiting for the job to come to me....
I have found that if you get off of your ass and go find the job it works much better then letting the job look for you...
Of course that notion completely bypasses selfish lazy people who like to have everything given to them and then they will only take it if it meets their particular set of demands....
Sometimes you have to take a risk and go elsewhere...broke or not.

That's the ticket!
My husband was laid off Dec. 1977 (Merry Christmas!). The shipyard he worked for had gone from an employment force of 25,000 down to under 12,000 in 6 short months. He was lucky to have held out as long as he did.
With a layoff such as that in a town of under 30,000...there were no jobs to be found.
So we packed our selves and our 2 month old son up and hit the road. We spent the next 3 years traveling from one construction site to the next. But he managed to stay employed and we never once filed for the government goodies.
You have to go where the jobs are because there's a good possibility one will not fall out of a tree and pump you on the head.

It's like inferring that John McCain is going to feed you upon hearing "If I vote for McCain, I won't have to worry about putting food on the table."
It was clear from her statement that the reason she thought she wasn't going to have to worry about mortgage or gas was because she was expecting that President Obama would find a way to subsidize it for her.
A change in presidents wouldn't affect your duty to worry about personal finances, unless it meant someone else (or some government program) would be charged with that duty.

Yanno...I think this is a bit unfair.
Sometimes you just can't get a job.
I have a MBA, and had a hard time getting a job. I applied to stuff like groceries stores to department stores etc.
I was doing door to door selling for quite some time. That's hard to do in all weather being outside and door knocking completely on commission. A lot of rejection.
Actually now I have my own door to door company that has one major client. My business has gone ballistic. I have about 30 people who work for me and my income has increased more than 20x.
I never have taken government assistance and my wife and I have supported ourselves.
However, I understand how hard it is to get a job when none are available on any level.
No, the government should not provide income. That is not their function.
But I think there should be more compassion for those people who honestly try and find a job and can't.

I spent 9 months looking for a job, before the economy "crashed".
I will say in my situation I had no experience (other than odd jobs here and there). I set my standards high and that was the biggest problem. The second I learned to take what I could get I found something (literally overnight). I make enough to barely make ends meet, but its something.
I read that the underemployment rate is something like 15%. So there are jobs out there. People in Henrietta's position can't be picky. The saying "Beggars can't be choosers" rings true.

In some states like Michigan there haven't been lower level jobs either :boohoo:

Oh I have compassion for someone who is diligently seeking employment and is unable to find a job dispite their efforts.
I don't think Mrs. Hughes and her son fit that description.
