I know I started this tread, and it may be off topic, buy every time I watch "Perfect Storm" I hope that they will make it. Chokes me up every time...
More on topic, when Charlie Sheen talks about Barnes and Eliis at the end of Platoon. Especially to the music.

Oh I know GoBucks. Especially because it is a true story. I remember the Andrea Gail and that terrible storm in 1991 on the North Shore and in Gloucester. Plus it has one of my favorite actresses, Diane Lane!
Bobby: Christina? Christina, can you hear me? I don't know if you can, but I'm talking to ya, baby. Do you know how much I love you? I loved you the moment I saw you. I love you now, and I'll love you forever. No goodbye. There's only love, Christina. Only love.

True Grit, when the outlaw calls The Duke 'a one-eyed fat man'.
Great scene...
Even though it's been amost 40 years since I saw the movie, I remember it well...
An aged John Wayne, playing Rooster Cogburn, is in a showdown with the bad guys, led by Robert Duvall (I think his character was named Ned). All are on horses.
Rooster tells the bad guys he's gonna take 'em all in.
Ned replies "That's bold talk for a one-eyed fat man."
to which Rooster replies "Fill your hand, you son-of-a-bitch!"
and, taking his horse's reigns in his mouth, goes at the bad guys with both barrels blazing...

Awww which scene is it?
My favorite scene in GWTW has to be when she leaves the hopsital and the whole town is going crazy....and she sees Big Sam.....that whole scene is so chaotic...I just love it.
Of course there is something about the BBQ at Twelve Oaks that I love too.

I am not a big fan of tearjearkers.....I hate things that make me have no control over my emotions :))
But I submit to you...the scenes that make me sob so uncontrollably that I have to remind myself to breath.
1. Terms of Endearment.....when Emma is about to die and she looks at Aurora and just gives her a gentle wave..and then she is gone.
2. Steel Magnolias.....if you do not sob at the funeral scene....you are a robot!
3. Armageddon....the scene where Harry is talking to Grace at the end. And the scene where Sharp is "Requesting permission to shake the hand of the daughter of the bravest man I've ever met."

Okay, the softer side of ALBOB: I loath tearjerkers and can't think of any movies that have had me sobbing like a baby. But did you see the episode of Extreme Makeover - Home Edition where they redid the house in Michigan of the deaf couple who had an autistic son??? Oh my dear Lord, I can't even THINK about that episode without tearing up. It was bad enough to begin with, but then when Marly Matlin came in and gave the oldest son a full ride scholarship to college I came unglued. :((

This is the most accurate depiction of Marine Boot Camp in a movie.
Or what used to be Marine Boot Camp.
(1996, when General Krulak initiated "the Crucible" and much of the training was revamped to be more politically friendly. Gee, thanks Clinton.
It's a bunch of touchy feely "you are a Marine now, even if you haven't really finished boot camp" crap, but still seems to be some of the best boot camp training out there)

I really wish I had gotten to do the Crucible. I made it to the last week of Marine Corps boot and dislocated my ankle. Was on crutches for 16 weeks and in a cast for 6 weeks. Ended up getting discharged with just the Crucible left to do.
The Army is looking to add a Crucible to their boot camp and extend it to 13 weeks, but it still won't compare to the Corps. My husband didn't even know what a Whiskey Closet was for. I was really lucky in boot though, go kicked and punched and hit with an ammo can by a drill instructor and told my senior drill instructor that it never happened. Ended up really liking the drill instructor that took everything out on me- once she figured out that I really knew my Algebra and English. She passed her college courses, I didn't have to deal with the cleaning of sand off sidewalks in windstorms on Parris Island.

Where was it filmed? I thought I heard it was filmed up near Lake George NY and in a National Forest Near there on the "Indian Trail" (of which I have hiked) If its not up there it looks very much like that trail.
Where did you hear it was filmed?
