Well why did I see every news channel covering a small plane crash today in south Florida when nobody was covering the millions of tea party participants a couple of days ago?
Geraldo said the news wasn't big enough! Do you agree?:D

For one I don't think there were millions of protesters, hundreds of thousands yes.
"If it bleeds it leads."
That is why a small plane crash is covered especially locally if it is a local crash.
Geraldo "Empty Vault" Rivera needs more hurricane undertow time.

He also got hit by a Chair on his failed Talk Show. I guess people don't like Big Nose crater faces. :))

I also don't get who decided what stories are big stories covered by the mainstream media stations. I especially remember getting sick of hearing about Drew Peterson and Nancy Halloway far too much in cycles past.
Also, why is Susan Boyle so popular in the news latley. Don't get me wrong, I think she's a great singer but one would thing that the tea parties would be more important than an internet fad.

Unlike Geraldo opening Al Copone's vault. Now that was newsworthy.

I disagree and would explain why but I dont want to risk being banned for contempt of host.
Geraldo is not in the same league of journalism as Bill O'Reily or Shep.

This from the guy who created a freaking "news special" on Al Capone's vault - which turned out to be full of air.
Geraldo has never been a credible news guy to me - and he still isn't.
He might be a nice guy off screen - but professionally he's still the male version of Nancy Grace.
If he thinks it's a non-news item - then it's probably worth watching.

I've seen a lot of things on TV that were a complete waste of time and not worth covering...many of which were hosted by Geraldo.

Geraldo was on Sean's show last night. Sean was pointing out that what little coverage there was, was casting it in the light of misguided, non-patriots.

The lack of coverage of the tea parties by the mainstream news is proof enough for me of a bias. They don't want to give legitimacy to large groups of people disagreeing with our current Democratic controlled government (even though the tea parties weren't anti-Democrat or pro-Republican, but of course they don't care about that fact).
Of course it was news worthy.

I think the answer to why this is so is the same answer the MSM doesn't give much coverage to annual March For Life rallies in D.C. every January. They don't want it to be a big story.

Geraldo is a fool.
I think these people at the rallies should get together with their Conservative masters and figure out a way to regain the moderate voters in this nation. It seems like a better strategy then dumping tea into our waterways.

I've got little use for what Geraldo has to say after watching him, in real time, literally give away our battle plan during the opening days of the war. Talk about stupid!

what geraldo says and a buck and a half will get me a nice iced cap.....
i'm trying to think how much i'm gonna fret over his stupid self and his worthless opinion. oh wait..........not at all.
He doesn't think it should be covered.......which is why it was.
Maybe he should leave Foxnews and go somewhere where they agree with him like the All Obama Sycophant network MSNBC....... schmuck.

Just what I was thinking. I looked up "irrelevant" in the dictionary. Geraldo's photo was there!

Why the hell would any respectable news organization cover a bunch of right wingers who represent in total under 1% of the pop of whining about spending and taxes when most of these morons are getting tax cuts!!lololololol
How many people took part in anti-war protests and got coverage? How many took part in the civil rights protests? About the same percentage-wise, yeah?
And this isn't all about the taxes, but the spending which will inherently require more taxes.

Obama isnt cutting taxes.
Obama is increasing taxes on everything, a whole array of goods and services, which will raise the effective tax paid by everyone.
The Bush tax cuts are expiring and Obama will be ignoring that tax rise in his claim of tax cuts.
it's not just about taxation.
I'm betting you've an expiration date.

Apparently the internet fad was more interesting to the public than the conservative talk radio and Fox News fad.
As folks around here like to point out, it's all about the ratings.

Geraldo is the same idiot that praised the brilliance of Obama in dealing with the Somali pirates who held Captain Phillips hostage when it was clear from all the available evidence that Obama actually delayed the freeing of Captain Phillips by shackling the Navy Seals and the on-site Navy commander for a day and a half with all kinds of extremely restricted rules of engagement.
No doubt Geraldo thinks that Obama shaking hands with old pineapple head, Hugo Chavez, and smoozing with the Castros was another brilliant advance in American foreign policy.
And I guess when the Israelis have to bomb the living daylights out of Iran to stop their nuclear weapons program Geraldo will be the first to condemn it as interference with the brilliant advancement Obama made to the Iranians when he apologized for America's very existence in Turkey.
Why does Hannity have him on the Great American Panel?
I'd never call the communist sympathizer Geraldo Rivera a Great American by any stretch of the imagination.
By the way, I'm a union man and I was proud to be at one of the Tea Parties we had here in Louisiana which were very well attended.
And like others who've stated the same thing on Hannity's special Tea Party day rally, I'm proud to say "In God We Trust" and "God Bless America."
With Obama in the White House and lunatics like Geraldo on the airwaves who else can we trust in but God and we need all the blessings from God we can get.

That's just it, a large part of news media now is for entertainment...I posted a thread about this the other day. Even local news, if it's a murder case they write it up like it's the climax of a Stephen King book...it's all about sales and $$$.
Once this catches on and becomes bigger or snowballs...then they'll cover it, maybe

What? That is the exact opposite of what I was saying? Am I speaking a different language and too crazy to know it? Maybe I should have made myself clearer. What I meant to say is people get carried away about someone's opinion. I can include myself in that sometimes sure I guess I do too. I wasn't trying to say people cant have an opinion, I was merely stating that who cares if someone thinks a certain news story deserves to be covered or not. This is twice today I have been inspired by a reply to me. You have inspired me for a different reason though. You have shown me that some people are going to argue with you and act childish for no other reason than they enjoy it. You can take credit for this, if you like, you have inspired me that I can be doing so many better things with my time than trying to talk rationally to people who dont want to be rational. I cant handle this childish stuff.

That's too bad because I was trying to inspire you to be more clear with your posts. If you WANT people to express an opinion then it's usually a bad idea to make a post dripping with sarcasm about them doing so. Glad I could help. ;)

Bill O'Reilly did not say the protests against Bush during his term were not worth covering. He had on several representatives of protesting groups so that they could explain their point of view. He's had code pink representatives on about 12 times.

Geraldo Riveira didn't think the Tax parties were worth covering, maybe perhaps there weren't enough Hispanics involved. Or, Hispanic issues weren't hi-lighted enough for him to care. There is of course the direction of the protests weren't contraversial enough.
