View Full Version : I think I need to apologize to you guys. . .

I used to frequent this forum a few years ago (in High School), then left when my political views started to moderate and I began to feel that everybody here was ignorant and short-sighted. But I was wrong.

I think I've matured over the last half-decade and I can see that most of you are worth talking to. I don't remember what my old username was, and I'm pretty sure I didn't offend anybody, but my arrogance was pretty inexcusable (though perhaps to be expected at that age).

Anyway - my apologies for misjudging you guys and the forum as a whole. This isn't a deadly serious apology but more of an attempt to explain where I'm coming from :).

Personally, I'm glad that there wasn't an internet back in my own teenaged years. I was utterly and completely right about everything and could have run the world. *cough* :shifty: So I thank God there is no physical evidence of that! :))

Welcome back to the forum and the discussion. There are a lot of good people here, from both sides of the aisle. Enjoy.

Welcome back... I hope you cleared your new account and user-name with the Mods before you re-registered. If you did not, you better do it immediately before they identify you as a retread.

That's odd jeepers... I have become more confident in knowing that I am right about everything now than I was then. ;)

Really? From five years ago? I wasn't banned but only left quietly. At any rate I don't even remember my old username so I don't know how I could be a retread. But I'd be happy to clear myself with the mods if that would still be required in this situation.

All you have to do is identify yourself to the Mods, explain the situation and they will be able to trace whether there was (or is) a previous account on the same url. If as you say, it is nothing more than inactivity and a forgotten username and password, they will clear it up. But if they stumble across it, you might be explaining yourself from the outside, trying to get back in. Your situation is by no means unique.

Huh, interesting. This is a new computer and the odds are the previous user didn't use this particular forum - I previously accessed this site from high school and on a computer we've long since gotten rid of. Regardless I'll go ahead and FYI the mods pretty soon that I'm a returning user.

When you're older, you know what is right for you.

When you're that young, you think that you know how to run the planet.

When you're wise, you know what you know and you know what you don't know. That is what I'm referring to.

If she/he's not been here for 5 years, her/his old account would have been purged. Personally, I wish I knew who he/she was back then to see if I'd remember

I am going to be offline for about 10 days while my computer is in the shop and I am out of town. I hope you don't forget me and purge my account.

Would it help if I pop in and say "hi" when I am in Spokane next week? ;)
