I'm not quit sure what it is that people are trying to accomplish with the Tea Party Rallies across the nation. I understand the concept of what they are trying to say, but is it the best way to get the point across? In 1773 the brave souls in Boston decided to stand up for what was right and decided to toss the tea overboard. Of course in this day in age that won’t work, we live in a different era. So why not do the next best thing. I propose that we stop paying the taxes. There are roughly 76.8 million registered Republicans and 39.4 million registered Independents paying taxes in some way, shape or form. If every one of these individuals where to claim exempt, on their tax form at work, for the next month how much of an impact would that have on the government. Better yet stop paying those taxes for the next six months and see how fast they change their tune. I’m tired of my money going to THINGS that do not benefit me, my family, my friends, and better yet my COUNTRY. What is protesting going to do for us, nothing. It’s time to send a very clear message to the people in Washington, stop taking my money

If everyone decided to not pay taxes, you would see craziness in this Country like never before. It would not work, only if you are in Washington you may be safe. The message for Congress and the President: STOP spending us into inevitable spiral of debt and higher taxes..........NOW!!!! A lot of people think this may not get the attention needed but I think it is the left wing who thinks this is just a joke, well there are a lot of people who are very commited and will take this as far as possible. I am very happy to be a part of this since I haven't been vocal about politics before, but there has to be an outpour of citizens to let the Goverment know this is a serious matter!

I am very familiar with how much tax I pay and have paid over many years.
I figured out a long time ago it was not worth trying to make more unless it was a WHOLE lot more since most of it would go to Tax.
Anyone bitching now has not been paying attention, is only interested when their guy loses, or a complete moron.

I disagree that these 'Tea Parties" have no or little impact. Every MSM is covering these events. Democrats, Republicans and Independents; Moderates, Liberals and Conservatives coming together in one voice on the topic of increased taxes and increased governmental spending. It most certainly has an impact...and the result of that impact will be seen coming from Washington Hill soon.
Dem's can no longer blame their actions on a war or on a past president. Obama himself will have to re-evaluate his own parties stance and displeasure at the thought of socializing America to match Europe. Policies that were going to be introduced and or enacted will have to be re-evaluated and re-written due to this one voice in concert by his fellow American's.
These gatherings of private citizens from all walks of life, all sides of the political spectrum will have to be now taken into considerations by those in power...that is if those in power wish to stay in power.
Sacramento's Tea Party grew to almost 10 thousand...four times more people came then expected. That says volumes to those in power watching these events..and it's these type of events that puts them all on notice that this 'change' is not working for American's.
No amount of liberal MSM whining will change the facts of what those in power fear most...a non supported admin that can be made into lame ducks for the remainder of their terms and the fear of not be re-elected into positions of power to make room for real 'change'.

I have been paying attention to my pocket book. And NO i did not vote for the moron we now have in office. I just think that you could spend your time with something better than to stand and yell at a rally that the people on Washington are going to ignore.
