"Can you be a Christian and vote for a Democrat?" As far as I am concerned, the democratic party works for "The Dark Side"

There are lots of Christians who feel that that they should have the right to dictate how everyone else lives and how they should go about doing it. So, IMO, yes, it can happen.

I know this is going to come as a big shock to you, but my faith and who I vote for is none of your business.

... What? Last time I checked both parties are looking to control your lives, just to a matter of what degree. Both like to control your personal life, but the GOP seems to infringe a bit more on personal liberties and decide what you can put into your body. Similarly, the Democratic party seems to take it upon themselves a bit more to decide where your money is going.
Funny and original sig line though.

Nobody is excluded from the Gospel. To say A Democrat cannot be a Christian isn't what the Gospel of Jesus Christ says, and is just using God for political gain, which I myself would not want to be accountable for on Judgement Day.
I know many Christ filled faithfull Christians who vote for the Democrats. I know one Christian Democrat couple who work every day to help stop abortions by counseling young people and offering them other options besides abortion. Of course that don't matter much to most right wing zealots I talk to about them. I guess God would rather they trash their political opponents on the internet than actually do something to save some babies.

Can you be a Christian and vote Republican? I wouldn't think that capital punishment would be a Christian value...
Here we go again, both sides distorting God's Word to fit their stupid petty politics.
Welcome to the forum

Time out...I didn't say that the GOP doesn't want to control your life...the question was can you be Christian and Democrat and my answer was yes, I think that you can.
For the record, my beliefs are more along the lines of fiscally conservative and socially leave me the hell alone. I'm opposed to social control no matter which side brings it.
And thanks, that quote makes me smile every time I see it :)

It is offensive to me that people from both sides would choose to use my God and Savior as their own little political football.

First of all, you cannot separate God and politics. This country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. God was the epicenter, in the beginning, which is why we have been so blessed.
Now, as for Democratic politicians, most are a bunch of lying, evil people that want nothing more than power over the people. They are pro abortion, anti gun, pro big government, and cant tell the truth if their life depended on it. I'll admit, Republicans arent much better. But at least for the last 8 years we didnt have a president chasing skirts and selling his soul and ours for the almighty dollar. And how about the MURDER of Vince Foster, with a white house cover up. Yeah, when it comes to morality, the Republicans win, hands down, and have since the 70's.

Most Democrats are good, morally upright people, and they are not wrong on every issue, only about 70% of the issues, IMNSHO.
Untill God registers as a Republican in His home state of Texas, I will be quite content to vote either party or third party.

Your side hasn't done anything to stop abortion either. No the Republicans don't win either. What they win is the ******** game about morality
