That is sad.

I cannot help but wonder if her life as a porn 'actress' had contributed to her early death.

While one can always repent, consequences cannot be so easily removed from ones life.

That's an awful big leap . My mother died at the age of 59, and a more Christian woman you will not find. But all the Christianity and moral living won't stop the effects of 40 years of smoking, combined with the fact that she put butter on just about everything she ate.

And you know, some people just have heart attacks and die. Life is a mystery.

Death is not a punishment.

How do you rationalize the deaths of those who die young and are not porn stars?

I did say 'I wonder...', no?

If you will check out the stats, 'actors' in the porn industry do tend to have very short life spans.

My mother died at the age of 59, and a more Christian woman you will not find. But all the Christianity and moral living won't stop the effects of 40 years of smoking, combined with the fact that she put butter on just about everything she ate.

Smoking and butter are certainly not sins, but they do have consequences.

My condolences for your mother's death by the way.

So the body is not really a temple and you can fill it with all the carcinogens and artery clogging goo you want and it's OK?

Yes, according to most Christian authorities.

The passage you refer to is in refference to sexual sin, IIRC, not eating things.

1st Corinthians chapter 6:
12"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything. 13"Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"—but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."[b (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians%206;&version=31;#fen-NIV-28468b)] 17But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
18Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

It looks to me like he is simply pointing out the obvious. It is no secret that a lot of people in that industry have issues, including risky sexual behavior and or substance abuse, it is not much of a leap to assume those might have something to do with an early passing.

Preach it sister!!!

I know of a former political representative of mine here in Tennessee who just passed away at 75 years of age. He had just been given a clean bill of health by his doctor. He plays with some of his grandchildren and has a stroke. A few days later, he has a much more serious stroke and dies!

While there are always statistical anamolies, yes, people that jog and keep their wright around normal and avoid getting a dozen assorted sexually transmitted diseases do on average live a lot longer than the average dope-smoking moron that chases anything with a hole between its legs.

There are plenty of insurance statistics based on these data and being a happily married and monogamous spouse adds a number of years to your life span on average.

Wow, living wisely and intelligently actually pays off; imagine that.

Death is a mystery for sure but I do know that you cannot predict it by lifestyle. I am aware of a man almost 60 years old, lifetime junkie, still alive and using and getting around better than some God fearing Christians in nursing homes.

Then by your logic insurance companies should have tossed out all their statistical models decades ago.

Dont be silly.

Death comes for us all, but it comes for some much sooner.

The trick is whether the human gene pool can be spared the continued polution of the more stupid among us.

Things like STDs used to really help in that endeavor, but modern medicine is keeping the indiscriminate filanderer donating to the pool right alongside your most virtuous saints and geniuses.

What a shame it cant have a more sharpened effect.

While one can always repent, consequences cannot be so easily removed from ones life.

Took two posts for the "divine retribution" angle to rear its ugly head.

You're aware that "good Christian people" die young too, right? My cousin never did porn, drugs, didn't have sex until she got married...just led a generally "good Christian life", and one night just happened to be sharing the wrong road with a drunk driver.

What did she do to deserve that?

Took two posts for the "divine retribution" angle to rear its ugly head.

Are you semi-literate?

Where did I argue that she died from Divine Retribution? You are reading that into my post.

I am talking about physical consequences of contracting repeated STDS for decades.

Besides, Chambers repented from her past and so, theologically, she was not subject to Divine Retribution anyway.

Try *reading* a post prior to responding to it sometime.

Yes, of course, good people living otherwise healthy lives die young too.

But you would go out of businesses running an insurance company that didnt take healthy life style factors into account.

On the average it is wiser to live a healthy life.

What did she do to deserve that?

We all die and we all deserve it.

I see this as I read.

A former porn star died at age 56. Many different types of people dies of natural causes at that age.

We are unaware of her cause of death.

Her former lifestyle may have played no role in her death. Possibly even her later in life way of living caused her death.

Death is not a punishment.

Many actions we do over the course of a lifetime can lead to our deaths including driving a car.

Driving a car is more risky than being a porn star I would guess.

It is not about being Christian. It is about all people being sinners and doing risky things in their life INCLUDING Christians.

I have to admit that I have done some very risky things, but they were so few and far between the odds were in my favor of not getting the physical consequences.

But prostitutes, for example, and porn actors do not fair well due to the prevalence of drug use and the spread of STDs in the industry.

That has ZIP-NADA-NOESING to do with Divine wrath or whatever.

I have no idea what you mean. I am talking about driving in a car which most of us do many times a day or having risky sex. I have no idea what kind of risks this woman took with her health nor have I heard she died from some aspect of her profession. She has not been in the business for years, correct?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pornographic_actor

Because of the nature of their work, usually involving sex without condoms, pornographic actors are particularly vulnerable to HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
In the 1980s, an outbreak of HIV led to a number of deaths of erotic actors and actresses, including John Holmes, Wade Nichols, Marc Stevens, Al Parker and Lisa De Leeuw. This led to the creation of the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation, which helped set up a system in the U.S. adult film industry where erotic actors are tested for HIV every 30 days. All sexual contact is logged, and positive test results lead to all sexual contacts for the last three to six months being contacted and re-tested. The use of condoms became standard in films featuring homosexual anal sex.
In 1997, John Stagliano tested positive for HIV. He contracted the virus recreationally after having unprotected anal sex with a Brazilian transsexual in Rio de Janeiro.[15]
In 1998, a second outbreak occurred. Sharon Mitchell, Director of the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation, announced on April 30, that Marc Wallice was HIV-positive. Wallice's career was effectively over, with rumors and speculation that he also infected several actresses, including Brooke Ashley, Tricia Devereaux, Caroline, Jordan McKnight, Barbara Doll, and Kimberly Jade. He denies the rumors, but they continue to resonate with many in the business; he had been caught with a fake AIDS certificate only months before the scandal broke.[16]
In 1999, Tony Montana and Stewart Roberts tested HIV positive in one of their gay orgy sessions.[17] On January 18, 2000, Niki Lae tested HIV positive. In January, 2001, Tori Coca Flame tested HIV positive.
In 2004, a male performer, Darren James, tested positive for HIV;[18] after engaging in unprotected anal sex with Brazilian porn star Bianca Biaggi for a scene in the video "Split That Booty 2" in Rio de Janeiro.[19] By the end of the month it was discovered that three actresses who had worked with James shortly after his return to the United States (two of whom were involved in the same production) had also become infected with the virus. These were Canadian newcomer Lara Roxx, Miss Arroyo, and Czech-born Jessica Dee. While it was announced that the viral load tests showed that James was "Patient Zero,"[20] others in the industry have stated they feel that Lara Roxx is truly the source of the outbreak[21] as she was previously working as a street prostitute in her native Montreal before coming to Los Angeles.[22] Following the release of this information the heterosexual porn industry voluntarily reduced their workload for the next 30 days, as various contacts with both individuals, as well as others within the industry, re-evaluated and expanded upon their original programs dealing with this possibility.
Accurate information about the extent of infection among those in the adult industry is unknown because no organization has ever done rigorous studies. The existing data suggest that pornographic actors have a much higher rate of STDs than the general American population.[23]

It has everything to do with wise behavior vrs foolish behavior.

I agree. I see very foolish people eating badly day in and day out. I see people not taking care of their bodies or their minds. They are certainly not all porn actors.

Why would they be? Obesity is in inverse corelation with acting in the porn industry.

No matter how many times you ask God to forgive you, if you have HIV, when God forgives you you will still ahve HIV.

How do you know what will happen at that happening?

Because that is what He said Himself.

Yeah, another classic.

I can just see all the posters here taking their daughter to museums t o see these classic movies.

Malcontent, would you hope that your daughters, if you have any, now or ever, would you hope that they have a life style like Ms. Chambers did?

Honestly, come, skip the humor; would you want your daughters to turn out like that?

BTW, I'll almost be willing to bet the house that she died from a drug overdose, but I havent seen any news on the toxicology report yet.
