View Full Version : The "Dating Game" thread

Remember the old show "The Dating Game"? For those of you who have never seen or heard of this classic show from the 60's and 70s, it was a game show where the contestant would ask questions of the guests. And depending on the answers, they would pick which contestant they wanted to go out with.

A lot of people enjoyed watching the show as they never knew what off the wall questions ( humorous or serious ) would be asked. Both sides had a blast. If I remember correctly, the contestant got to ask 5 questions to each of the guests, before having to make a decision.

In that light, I would like for us to have our own "The Dating Game" thread. I think it would be fun. If you are married, feel free to play along if you like. Maybe there are questions you always wanted to ask when dating, but for whatever reason never did. lol Now you can ask your question to whomever you like, and see what kind of crazy ( or not ) response you might get. :))

Please keep the questions above board ( read: within the TOS ).

Pick a person you would like to ask a question of. Once they have answered the question, you can move on to your next question.

One question they never asked: What is your party affiliation?

I can't even imagine a lib hooking up with a con.

Can we combine it with "The Newlyweds Game"?

The questions about "making woopie" were always great fun.

Inward beauty is number one in my book. That is not to say physical attraction doesn't play a part. I believe it does. That gauge is different for each person.

As to inward beauty, a lady that knows what she wants out of life, challenges me intellectually, spiritually, physically, gives me what for when I need it, and embraces me with her heart and soul, when things have progressed to that level. A lady that invites me to swim around inside her heart and soul, is a woman that has it "going on," in my opinion.

Alright I got a question for the ladies.

It's the first date, we've gotten along very well, great dinner conversation and I'm driving us both to what's sure to be a romantic game of put-put golf (yes, I used that term when I asked you out for it initially). We make small talk, and we're both exchanging looks. All of a sudden, though the radio is low, "I'm So Excited" begins to play, and my lungs instinctively exert their power. You've never heard such a manly man so eloquently hit those high notes. Do you sing along, laugh, or action roll out of the vehicle?

Seeing how you are a Red Sox fan, I would make sure to procure tickets to a summer night game right behind the dugout for your viewing pleasure ;) Unbeknownst to you, I also met with the Red Sox management, and had the team autograph a ball for you, commemorating our date. :) Right before the 7th inning, I excuse myself to go to the bathroom. After a few moments, the scoreboard lights up with "Dreams do come true. They are about you Dreamybrat." The announcer then says, "Dreamybrat, please report to center field. The lights go out in the entire stadium for a moment, and in the darkness of the night, a heart shape made of lit candles begins burning with me standing in the middle. As you make your way out to where I am, this song begins playing...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pGPHAoIDyo

And we dance the 7th inning stretch together as the rest of the stadium looks on wishing they had the courage to do what we just did. After our dance is over, I hand you your the autographed ball so that you will always remember this night.

Ladies:

How would you react to a man who is really unsure of himself? More specifically, how would you take one who has quite a reputation for being a nerd? How would you handle a man who does not have most of the commonly held male proclivities (i.e., sports, fast fried food, etc.)?

I am curious about this because I fit in this category.

I would make our first date very casual. Maybe a local comedy club so we could share time but without any "must talk"pressure. And laughing always loosens up the first date jitters. Then perhaps a late night snack somewhere to allow us some time to chat a bit.

I would also consider a museum a great date. Art,science, photography etc because that would allow time to walk and talk and keep the pressure to a minimum.

Self-named "nerds" are often some of the funnest people to spend time with and get to know.

Still waters run deep. Guys with cheap sleazy lines are the worse.

Being that I am an artsy kind of man makes a museum date quite appealing to me. And for the record, I too am put off by the cheesy and sleazy lines that too many men have repeated.

Nothing wrong with us nerds Fox :D Never apologize or feel bad for being true to who you are. A lady that wants to get to know you for who you are, will be sensitive to your needs, and will do her best to make you feel at ease with her.

Okay! Got a week free hon? Meet you at the Louvre or would you like to fly over together? Shall I bring Kate? ;)

Might as well go top shelf.:D

Sounds great. You can leave Kate back in Mass; she is a wee bit too temperamental for my tastes. LOL

See ya at the Louvre.....
