04.05.2009: Apparently Asian people don't eat breakfast, sweetheart

(ap) - My lil one was asking me as we passed our favorite ChinaEatery, the Tea Garden, if we could go there... It was the AM at the time.

I said, "Honey, the Tea Garden isn't open right now."

Predictably my 3 year old asked, "Why isn't it open, Daddy"...

Me being me, I told her, "Because apparently Asian people don't eat breakfast, sweetheart."

:)

My wife is half Korean...breakfast at her mom's house consists of rice. But in the morning they'll usually throw a little sugar on it.

I am having lunch with my wonderful manicurist this Wednesday. She is taking me to a place near Boston for me to try Vietnamese food for the first time. And yes she does eat breakfast also.

By the way,she became a newly minted American citizen last week. I am so thrilled for her I am taking her out to lunch and bringing her some new citizen goodies. God Bless her. She is so proud! Terrific lady! A better American than some of the ones born here. Way to go Kim! :flag::clap:

It truly is TC. She had me as excited as she was. She asked me questions she was studying during my appointments. She is a joy to know and a funny funny person. In spite of her English being not perfect her and I have come to enjoy each other's company. We are hoping she can join our next girl's weekend away.

I have never had Vietnamese food. I have had Thai but she said that Vietnamese is healthier than Thai and less spicy. More veggies. I'll let you all know what I think after we have lunch.:D

Okay, but Japanese count as asian.
Hmmm.....couldn't find a decent answer to a Chinese breakfast. Maybe the Chinese don't have breakfast as we know it.

We have an Italian restaurant near me that does not open until 4pm. I wonder if Italians don't eat breakfast also....or as Mal said to his sweet daughter..."apparently" :))
