says that his main concern is the safety of the Captain and crew.
Hmmmmm.... could someone tell the guy following the issue closely that the crew is GONE? They are on their way to Kenya to deliver their cargo.

The White House is proving itself to be Comedy Central again.
The crew is just fine; btw the cargo is destined for Somalia (I know you're making a joke but for others to know how low these pirates are, they will steal food out of the mouths of those that are starving)

Billy M I'm getting that the shipment of aid was for Kenya as well now in an American newspaper.
I got the Somalia from the timesonline/Britain.
Apologies about that. There appears to be conflicting reports.

And what specifically is his "job" with this issue? What would you do if you were Oboma?
Follow the pirates by spy satellite next time they know they are taking a ship. Send about 2000 troops (overkill) to kill them all and rescue all the ships and crews held there. I know some crew members might be killed in the process, and that is EXTREMELY regrettable, but this has to be stopped.
Wash, rinse, repeat until the pirates are gone.

Follow the pirates by spy satellite next time they know they are taking a ship. Send about 2000 troops (overkill) to kill them all and rescue all the ships and crews held there. I know some crew members might be killed in the process, and that is EXTREMELY regrettable, but this has to be stopped.

I just find it amazing that the crewmen on these merchant ships are not allowed to be armed.

I'm a little perplexed but how the White House doesn't seem to give a crap about 20 Americans being taken hostage.
Gibbs walked in laughing, took questions about unrelated matters first, then strugged off questions about the Pirate incident.
Couple that without hearing a comment (as far as I know) from the President yet and it's just odd.

Obviously they proved by taking care of their own situation without waiting for a gubmnt rescue that they are not part of his voting block so he couldn't care less.
