View Full Version : Obama's gaffes reflect a need to win "personal approval from others"

President Obama revealed a character flaw last week which is fatal for his office: Obama is willing to do or say nearly anything in order to win the approval of persons currently in his direct proximity. As examples, bowing to the Saudi King, dissing his own country to an European audience, telling Muslims he is not at war with Islam, the list goes on.

Put another way: his immediate gratification at winning approval from those in close physical proximity trumps any consideration for the welfare of his country, certainly including taking any uncomfortable positions which would be objected to by those in attendance (note; his mild chastizing of the Euros was preceded by an uncalled for condemnation of America, an act meant to win personal approval).

The man has an immature complex which feeds on the personal immediate approval from others. It is dangerous. It means he does not have the courage to take unpopular, but patriotic, positions as demonstrated by president Bush.

This man's weakness is mortal to the office of President.
