1) Stevens was a Senator, not a Representative
2) Stevens was not found not guilty; the US AG dismissed the indictment and asked the Judge to vacate the conviction.
3) The US DA who prosecuted (persecuted?) Stevens was working for a Republican Administration, not the Democrats.
4) **** happens... There was nothing improper about the election; there is no legal justification for a new election.
5) Get your facts straight prior to posting...

Careful Patty... it is the "lefties" who dropped the charges against Stevens. ;)

Stevens was persecuted and prosecuted just long enough for his Democratic opponent to win the election. Now the Democrats are saying he's not guilty. Very convenient -- and clever too!

And the Right wing rewriting of history commences: a Republican administration went after him, a Democratic administration dropped the charges.

So why do you suppose the highly politicized attorneys from the Bush administration went after a fellow Republican?

Those prosecutors were working under the supervision of a Republican US Attorney General... he could have stepped in any time he wanted. This conspiracy is bigger than anyone knew.

They naively assumed that a Democratic court would be fair and just.

How come everyone is accusing the Democrats and Obama being involved in some conspiracy in this issue but ignore it was a Republican administration that went after him?
