I am a PC gamer. The only reason the xbot crap is posted up there is because it's the only one that can be tracked in any official sense.
On a side note, CoD4 on PC has between 14,000 and 21,000 unique SERVERS depending on the night of the week you play. The number of players per server varies, but it's between 16 and 40 slots per server, not to mention the incredible amount of mods and custom maps available to PC gamers.
Hopped on this weekend and had to adjust my server filter there were so many. 20,000+

I love my CoD 3...just now plowing through #4....what's not to love? Blood, guts, ammo, big guns...shooting down the bad guys...it's wonderful therapy!
I like the game better on my PC though...still trying to get a handle on the PS2 game console.... Damn buttons are gonna make me loose it! ;)
Can't wait to try out this new sets of game....looks fabulous!!!! Thanks for the heads up....

I think it's pretty much a given that everybody on these forums has a PC. I mean, I've posted here with my iPod Touch and my Motorola Q cell phone before but it's definitely not my normal or preferred method.
I'm a console gamer. Hardcore, like my living room has more console video games than the local Toys R Us. Thousands of games, all legit. Over 23 game consoles.
My PC's are capable of gaming. Both of my working desktops have twin monitors and graphic accelerator cards to support the dual displays, but I don't game on them. My laptop is plenty capable itself with a widescreen monitor and a cable that hooks to my ceiling projector system. Ever seen a laptop with a 72" display in your lap? I've got one. But I won't game on it and here's the reason why:
I flatly don't like the controls. I don't look at the keyboard when I type because I'm a touch typist and so I prefer "clicky feel" keyboards for the tactile feedback when I type. What makes for good typing makes for bad gaming. A great keyboard makes a horrid game controller.
Using arrow keys and the Z,X,C keys on the PC keyboard for game controls? Are you KIDDING me? I'm never going to play a game like that, that's crazy and NO FUN.
PC games are released half-baked with a patch download every week and quite frankly, PC gamers cheat like Hell. There's always some candy punk who has altered the software and then goes online to prove he's GOD because he modified the program to make him the winner all the time every time.
I ain't up for that and I'm not going to feed some script-kiddie hacker ego by being cannon fodder for his cheating ass.
So I don't game on PC. I do spend about $12,000 per year on video games, but none of them will be for the PC. PC games are bugridden pieces of garbage and PC gamers online are a bunch of cheating hackers. I ain't up for none of that.
You want a piece of me online? Xbox360 Microsoft Live account, look for Wildrange. That's me. I'm not gaming on PC's. A PC is a general purpose box. I prefer the specialty equipage.

COD: World At War is better, I thought, than Modern Warfare I.
I just find playing during the WWII era more fun, and the addition of tanks to the battle field made it really fun too.
I am pretty sure the airstrike was a more effective 5-kill perk than the artillery, but my question is...
Do you guys feel that dogs (World at War) or the helicopter (Modern Warfare) is a more effective 7-kill streak reward?

Hahaha, I lost a game last night 691 to 690 on Downfall. "We live to fight another day!" They got the last kill with 1.2 seconds left. A tough pill to swallow, but those are always the most exciting games!
If it weren't for the fact that guys can hide under buildings from the copter, I would say the copter, but dogs can get you anywhere. I also really like that they reward you if you can knock off the dogs with 3 points.
Man... I love that game.

i like dogs on the smaller maps when you have extreme conditioning, goggles and flares.... and can run behind them, toss a flare and start gutting people with the knife....lol.....no escape.

Hmm, never thought about using goggles and flares on a small map. That's a good idea. I always wondered why people used goggles, as the 2nd perk? I think it's the 2nd one anyway. I always run into people with juggernaut, camouflage or the most common... stopping power.

yeah, you go special X 3 for 1, Shades for 2, and extreme conditioning for 3...equip your pistol hopefully the 357 or the tokarev, and a sub or a shotty, but use a pistol when you have the dogs out and are looking for the melee kill, i use this exclusively on that bombed out train station map.

After the greatness that was Modern Warfare, going to WWII was difficult at best.
I will admit that W@W was a great game, but in my opinion, paled in comparison to modern warfare. The 2 most redeeming factors about World at War were:
1. Sticky grenading a person. The horrible scream the player lets out when he gets stuck with a grenade is probably the greatest thing i've ever heard in a game. I got the "special delivery" accomplishment by complete accident and it was also the first time i'd ever hit a player with a sticky nade.
2. Bolt action Rifles are the only reason I have not deleted the game from my hard drive. The Mosin Nagant and the Kar98 are the best weapons in the game. With the bayonet attachment, it increases the fun factor by 3. It drives people nuts when all you're using is a bolt and you can place top 3 over the spray and pray kids. If Modern Warfare would have had an iron sight bolt rifle, and larger maps, it would have been the perfect game.

i dont remember the limb jiblets and moaning of the dead in MW....i really enjoy this in W@W....it is reminiscent of the extreme blod patches I used to beta for the Merciless crew in the first and second CODs on PC

Well, while I won't fault you for not playing on PC due to "control" issues (which is just another way of blaming the controller ) I will say that every patch that a PC gets, the xbox/PS3 games also get.
As far as PC players cheating... nah. Punkbuster does a really good job of catching cheaters. I've only ever had one confirmed cheater kill me in over a year of play time. I've seen quite a few people kicked by PB but it's never affected my game. Not to mention that we have a private server that is password protected. We only let people in when we know them really well.
What kills me on the console is the soft targeting. It's like a legal aimbot because the controllers aren't as fast as the mouse as far as acquiring a target. Get in the general area, press a button, wham, you're on target. All that's left is to fire. That's kind of weak.
and I don't know what games you're playing but every FPS that I can remember after doom has used the WASD keys for movement, mouse for looking and shooting, and a few number keys for switching things up. If you can type, you can be effective with the keyboard.

I never had to use the arrow keys in Modern Warfare. And even if you do, the controls are very customizable. I don't think arrow keys have had a prominent role in the shooter genre since the first Doom.

Ghost Recon is no longer a "cool" PC game?

The patches always seem to come at the worst possible time, I'm up for a quick game and the message from Momma Microsoft comes up and orders me to accept the patch download or get booted off of XBox Live. That's really annoying when all I wanted to do is play a game and instead I'm watching download in progress.

I'd never heard of this PB thing before but on their website it looks like they're only supporting 28 games, mostly Raven and Electronic Arts stuff. Seems kind of spooky that the PB software is installed on the computer and they can grab a screenshot anytime.

Depends on the console. I've played Quake on the Saturn with a mouse and Unreal Tournament on the Dreamcast with a mouse. I'd think most modern consoles with a USB port could take a mouse too.

Last PC shooter I played was probably Hexen and I liked that better on the console because my living room is a lot more comfortable than my den with the PC's.
