Was just catching up on the Mark Levin radio show and heard this fantastic speech at the beginning of his show (dated 03/31/09)
This was from the Goldwater campaign and all I can say is: the more things change the more they stay the same!
if you want to download the 3/31 Levin Show

Here is the speech in text...........

One notable part which I will take the liberty of highlighting a portion of...
We are for aiding our allies by sharing our material blessings with nations which share our fundamental beliefs, but we are against doling out money government to government, creating bureaucracy, if not socialism, all over the world.
We need true tax reform that will at least make a start toward restoring for our children the American Dream that wealth is denied to no one, that each individual has the right to fly as high as his strength and ability will take him.... But we cannot have such reform while our tax policy is engineered by people who view the tax as a means of achieving changes in our social structure....
Have we the courage and the will to face up to the immorality and discrimination of the progressive tax, and demand a return to traditional proportionate taxation? . . . Today in our country the tax collector's share is 37 cents of every dollar earned. Freedom has never been so fragile, so close to slipping from our grasp.

Thanks for the notation. You are correct. The link I historically provide was not working so I select an alternative without fully checking it out. I have, now, replaced the link in my post to a site with the complete speech in text.

It is sad to see that our country is moving in the exact opposite direction. Irony is: that the very people (libs) who are supposed to save the poor are pushing them further into a hole through high inflation and indirect taxation.
