Saw this movie this weekend, mainly because it was shot at Kennywood, where I grew up going to, but also because it looked funny from trailer.

I just want to let you know that the trailer is extremely misleading in the type of movie this is. While it has some funny moments (and they're practically all in the trailer), it plays more like a drama than a comedy.

Enjoyed it though. But I don't like the dishonesty in marketing.

Kennywood looked great, BTW. Brings back lots of memories, both from being there as a child, and then taking my own children there.

I had a freind in college that worked at Kennywood.

At any rate, doesn't that movie have the girl from...::shudders:: Twilight in it? ::twitches::

Yeah, that's her.

Beautiful girl, but pretty much one-dimensional when it comes to acting. She has the quiet, angst-ridden, bite-her-lip type of character down pat.

I don't know if I'd use the word beautiful. She's attractive enough, I know a lot quite a few Twilight fans that had an issue of her being cast as the main character in that movie because she WASN'T pretty enough. Evidently, in the books her character is gorgeous and that actress is attractive but plain.

Well if she's a character actress this is the year for that type of character it seems.

Wow! I haven't thought of Kennywood in years. Our school would have the "school picnic" there every year. I remember the Thunderbolt was THE thrill ride everyone was talking about. The Racer and the Jack Rabbit were other rollercoasters in the park. Then of course you would have to go through Noah's Ark. What memories.

ETA: Back in the day, admission was $9.00 and the bus ride there and back was $3.50. I would have to cut grass all summer to save the money to go.

I thought it was a good blend of comedy and drama, like Juno. It wasn't ridiculously over the top - which is a good thing.

Being a Pittsburgher and all Kennywood has always held a special place in my memory and heart. We used to go every year for the school/community picnics which were held in May. Some of my greatest memories are from this place and I am super excited to see the movie.
