There is a bit of back story on this to all newbies when it comes to MST3K.

Basically, at the time this show was broadcast, Best Brains (aka Mystery Science Theater 3000) got the rights to Godzilla v. Megalon cheap. And made one of the best and funniest mst3ks ever. (Although, in my humble opinion, "Final Sacrifice" was THE FUNNIEST show they ever did).

When RINO released volume 10 of their MST3K episodes, someone screwed up, and assumed Godzilla vs. Megalon was still public domain. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Toho had a fit, and Rino has to withdraw Volume 10, real quick! Many had pre-ordered this volume and never received it, because it was withdrawn. There were a lot of angry people.

RINO soon came out with a volume 10.1 which had replaced Godzilla vs. Megalon with "The Giant Gila Monster" which, in my humble opinion, SUUUUUUUCKS!!

Thus, the orinal Volume 10 has become the Holy Grail for all mysties.

If you can cough up $150 bucks, maybe you can get near one. But, with two kids, one in college, I don't have money like that to spend.

But all is not dark. Netflix was one of the lucky ones that got the original Volume 10 with Godzilla vs. Megalon on it.

You have to wait to get it, but you can get it. This is my second time getting it, in my queue.

But, sooner or later, I have to return it. :(

I've been tempted to rip it to my computer, but Jesus tugs at my heart and I KNOW it's wrong to steal, (DARNIT!) So, I sadly slip it into it's envelope and return it to netflix.

Sometimes, it's real hard to be a Christian. :( :(

Manos was my favorite for years, until just a few years ago when I saw Space Mutiny for the first time...

Since there's no limit on how long you can keep a Netflix movie (at least there wasn't when I had it), how long do you hold onto it?

There's a movie they did called 'Time Chasers' (which, I'm proud to admit, I own the original on DVD - got it at the dollar store), and on the MST3K DVD, they talk about how they informed the producers of the movie that they intended to include it in their collection.

They said the producers were fans of the show, and they were all pumped and excited that their movie was going to be made fun of by MST3K. They even had a party and invited their friends to screen the version. However, when they saw the final product, they were upset and didn't want to talk to the folks from MST3K any more.
