I just came back from attending the Northport Tea party held on the village green....It was well attended with over 400 showing up despite the mist and rain....The speeches given by organizer John Stevens and others were inspiring, but what will be most remembered was the procession by attendees over the water on the docks with colonial garb, powdered wigs, pithforks, placards ,
liberty banners proclaiming the start of a new movement based on the founding principles of freedom....The tea flasks thrown into the harbor by the assembled Indians and the resounding thunder of cannonfire ushered the new tone of protest against governmental tyranny....Let Fredom Ring!!!
