Israeli Teen Dies in West Bank Ax Attack

MATTI FRIEDMAN, AP
posted: 1 HOUR 32 MINUTES AGO

JERUSALEM (April 2) - An ax-wielding Palestinian militant entered a Jewish settlement in the West Bank on Thursday and went on a rampage, killing an Israeli teenager and wounding a young boy before fleeing the area.

Authorities said a manhunt was under way for the assailant, who was believed to have been wounded by security guards.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the militant used the ax and a knife in the attack in Bat Ayin, a settlement south of Jerusalem. "No shots were fired," he said.

Security guards wounded the attacker before he fled, said Shaul Goldstein, a settler leader. "The security team here managed to shoot and hit the terrorist, but he managed to escape," he told Army Radio.

Police and military units were searching for the attacker, according to Rosenfeld and army officials. Israeli TV showed images of a large group soldiers in combat gear gathered at an intersection, and the army said all roads around the settlement were closed.

Rescuers on the scene told Israel Radio that a 13-year-old boy was killed and a 7-year-old boy was badly wounded. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

I Might have Said...

Israeli Children Targeted by Palestinian Axe Murderer...

Maybe "Dies" is a Little TOO Polite there, AP...

Afraid of what the Religion of Peace and Love might do if you Call it what it is?...

6 Paragraphs to Illustrate who these Animals Target... Innoncent Children.

Courageous, the American Left is NOT.

Scared to Death of the Islamists, they ARE.

And their Lack of Courage shows in EVERY News Story...

Or every Conveniently Missing or Buried News Story.

Mal-
if it bleeds it leads....er, ahem, unless it's Islamist terrorists or incidences like the Channon Christopher story...or that lady that let a homeless man die slowly for days in her car windshield...or... ad nauseum.

Such acts of violence are despicable, and indefensible. I hope this assailant is caught before he can cause any more harm.

Branding an entire faith on the actions of individuals is extremely short sighted however. You can find "followers" of any faith whose behaviour, obstensibly in pursuit of that faith, are morally repugnant. But you will find many many more that are just trying to live their lives, love their families, and seek their own way in life. Odds are good you know muslims personally that fit this definition. I know I sure do, and they are good, decent, gentle people.

This assailant is a violent murderer. His interpretation of his faith is as repugnant as any faithful of any faith that turns their faith to violence, but it doesn't define the religion. The practice of every faith on earth is filtered through the actions and mentality of its followers.
