Is this man something or what? He deserves this more than anyone else.

In related news, his restaurant has been named as an official hang out for the Spartans this weekend. :D

Wow! I really feel old, I remember when he started in the NHL. I even remember when Mark Messier had hair. :(

So that's who Obama was referring to when he was on Leno?

To me he'll always be the reason Philly got knocked out of the '89 playoffs (cheap shot on Brian Propp, knocked him out of the series)...fortunately, Hextall beat the crap out of him as Game 6 was ending, so there's that.

What can I say...long memory.

Long memory... I still have fond memories of Chelios from his days with the Habs... those were the glory years for that team... Svoboda and Chelios on defence with the fastest forwards ever... Richer, Courtnall and Corson... memories...

Raise your hand if you remember the pre-game fight between the Canadiens and the Bruins in the series of 86 or 87? And yes, I remember Ron Hextall... I think my sister and I might have dabbled in Wicca to blacken his name...

I think that was the Flyers...Ed Hospodar and a couple of other guys found out about Lemieux and them firing into the Flyers cage after warmups and took umbrage. Coach Keenan had to lock Hextall in the training room so he wouldn't get involved.

Was it the Flyers? Quite possible... man... those were the good old days... when fights lasted a good five minutes and the benches were cleared... the more my hockey memories come to the surface, the most I remember Hextall as being quite the violent young man... I loved that about him.

Pretty sure it was the Flyers unless it happened more than once (which, considering the volume of tools on that Habs team would not surprise me).

Loved Ron Hextall...without doubt the 2nd best goalie we've had in this town (after Bernie Parent)...the only shame of it is that his coming of age would never have occurred had it not been for the death of Pelle Lindbergh :(

The blackhawks never were the same without Chelios.
