About a week ago, I opened up a window, I then got multiple pop ups, stating I am infected by a computer virus.
One of the warnings which looked authentic said it was from I believe MS Virus Protection or something like that, and that my virus protection is off, and I need to purchase the whole program by pressing the button.
I pressed the button and it took me to a pop up asking for my credit card information to purchase the full program.
There was a phone number with a 530 area code. It had a message and leave a number thing. That made me suspicious.
I then called Dell. The technician took over my computer by remote, and cleaned it up. He said the purchase program window was bogus, and just an attempt to get my credit card information.
