We all have busy lives. What do you do to "center" yourself?
For me it's yoga. I only just barely got back into it, after having been on a forced break for medical reasons. I don't know how I ever coped without it!
What is it for you? What do you do to relax, and cope with every day stresses?

I have 40 minutes of windshield time every morning and evening. It's interstate driving with no traffic to speak of. I leave the radio off and listen and think and pray, order based on day and circumstances.

That has been known to prevent me from biting off someone's head.
Hey there I go with that biting theme again. :eh::think:

Biting can be very therapeutic.

Nice. We have no such unfettered drives in my area. Interstates always have traffic or construction.

Biting off someone's head did wonders back when I had to deal with those stupid knights in shining armor.

Same here Boomer. I drive 75 minutes each way and use the time to reflect, think and pray. I find that this time of day is all that I can truly call "my time". Amazing how calming 75 minutes of driving on the Interstate can be if used properly.

Other "centering" things for me.
A good talk with a dear friend.
A good old fashioned, eyes watering belly laugh or in reverse a sob session.
A massage.
A new baby in my arms.
Sitting quietly outside looking at the sky.
Lying on the grass on a warm summer day watching the clouds move slowly above.
I truly find nature is one of the more "centering" aspects of life next to God Himself.

Before my knees finally got to the point I can't handle the pounding, I used to go for long evening runs. There truly is such a thing as a "runner's high".

Indeed there is and I too understand the results of knee abuse from running.
Have you found a way to duplicate that high?

Weight lifting. Started lifting right after I quit smoking to help relieve stress and to make sure the pounds I gained were muscle instead of fat. I can honestly say it saved my life once. (That's a story that doesn't really need to be told, just trust me on it.) If I don't get my regular workouts in three times a week I get VERY cranky. (Yes, even more than normal.) And if I feel stress starting to build up from work or anything else I'll make a special trip to the gym just to "vent".

Exactly!
I start my day with yoga, end it with Pilates or some other form of strength training. The day just doesn't seem right without it.
