I don't know anything about the August Review nor the author of this piece but it is interesting reading.

He stresses that Obama was groomed and is being driven by the trilateral commission although I can't see where he presents anything compelling and Obama is not a member. But he certainly seems to chum up with them.

By Patrick Wood, Editor
January 30, 2009

"As previously noted in Pawns of the Global Elite (http://www.augustreview.com/news_commentary/u.s._elections/obama_and_mccain%3a_pawns_of_the_global_elite?_200 8080597/), Barack Obama was groomed for the presidency by key members of the Trilateral Commission. Most notably, it was Zbigniew Brzezinski, co-founder of the Trilateral Commission with David Rockefeller in 1973, who was Obama's principal foreign policy advisor.
The pre-election attention is reminiscent of Brzezinski's tutoring of Jimmy Carter prior to Carter's landslide election in 1976.

For anyone who doubts the Commission's continuing influence on Obama, consider that he has already appointed no less than eleven members of the Commission to top-level and key positions in his Administration.

Secretary of Treasury, Tim Geithner
Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice
National Security Advisor, Gen. James L. Jones
Deputy National Security Advisor, Thomas Donilon
Chairman, Economic Recovery Committee, Paul Volker
Director of National Intelligence, Admiral Dennis C. Blair
Assistant Secretary of State, Asia & Pacific, Kurt M. Campbell
Deputy Secretary of State, James Steinberg
State Department, Special Envoy, Richard Haass
State Department, Special Envoy, Dennis Ross
State Department, Special Envoy, Richard Holbrooke
There are many other incidental links to the Trilateral Commission"

There are 87 known U.S. members of the commission. Eleven are in cabinet positions and another 8 hold significant roles in the administration.
Would one suppose the power in this commission might be able to orchestrate a critical of 500 billion draw down from investments funds. Could such a commission orchestrate the largest pool of private contribution to a Presidential campaign ever? Could radical ties have been a huge distraction all along and rather, the radical liberal background only fitting for a new puppet?

And by the way, Bush Jr and Sr, Cheney, and in fact no president all the way back to Carter is clean of this.

I'm not even convinced the government is really even the primary player.

I quit trusting the government my first day in Basic Training.........LOL
My Sgt, I trusted.
The rest, well, I was willing to take his word for them on an as needed basis.

Any of you remember those billboards along the highway asking:
" Is the invisible 2nd government becoming visible ?"

I saw those for years and then they all of sudden just "went away".

Well, if it IS the invisible 2nd government in action, then we can take
some comfort from the fact that at least they (from all appearances )
know what the hell it is they're doing.
After all, they've been working on this for over 100 years now, so
they really oughta have a plan wouldn't you think ?

Is a one world government a plan you want to visit?

Not particularly, but it would give me some comfort to know that someone
that has more sense than Obama is actually running things.

A bit of gallows humor there.

Caught that. I was chuckling before I got to the last line. It's a sad state to feel that way isn't it.

are trilaterals some sort of geometric shape?

Depends on whether that is a serious question. They are the trilateral commission.

You can bet on it.

Obama is a traitor to America. Idiots elected him and they will reap their reward.

Okay, so it wasn't a serious question.
If it was, google is your friend.

I don't have time to give you a synopsis from the last hundred years.

The truly sad part of it is that those of us who DIDN'T elect him
are also going to reap that reward.

For along time I've had this sense that the "aisle" was a myth and that the so called seat of power wasn't that at all. That party affiliation at some point meant nothing - it was more the behind the scenes connections that pulled the strings. This is a prime example - this group doesn't care about political parties - it's totally agenda driven and the parties just trade places once in a while.

All in the name of misdirection for the sake of control.

This was posted late at night. Just thought I'd bump to see if the day crowd had anything to say.
