View Full Version : What Is Your Top Favorite TV Series in DVD?!

FoxGranadaChuck
March 30th, 2009, 6:35 pm
The question is quite simple: What is your top favorite TV series that is available in DVD? The TV series in question can come from any country around the globe. In fact, mine comes from the UK.

My favorite TV series available in DVD is Midsomer Murders, especially the first 7 seasons. After that, it loses a bit of its luster. Even missing the luster of the first few years, Midsomer is still strong in my book.

What say you?

Look on Amazon.com if you want to get them. You pay a hell of a lot less there than say a book or video store. The highest level I paid was $25.00 per season. All seven seasons are available. You won't regret it.

Decent?

Ouch.

And the acting's not terrible. I mean...it's no "Gossip Girl", but it's easily digestible and it's on my "take one for the team" list. Anything I can do to get the wife off my back on football Sundays that ALSO gives me the hotness of Lauren Graham is worth the trouble.

Darling...talking fast does not equal not terrible acting :))

And the daughter...needs to learn how to 1. Invoke inflection and 2. Open her mouth to talk.

It makes my "I watch to make fun of it" list. Come on....it is just a bad bad show geared towards teenagers who long to be "best buddies" with their mother :))

Once Brenda was gone, it opened the door for 90210 to become all it could be...the trashy soap opera that prime time deserved!

Once Valerie showed up, the show really took off. There may never be a better episode than "Donna Martin Graduates! Donna Martin Graduates!", but they enjoyed a LOOOONG run of solid unintentional comedy for the six years after Brenda left.

Even you probably secretly wondered if it was possible for Donna's breasts to actually move or if they were stuck there in some sort of weird suspended animation.

The good thing about most BBC shows is that more often than not, they come in multiple DVD sets. Thus, the cost of them is mitigated to a point. It also helps if you have a Barnes & Noble membership card. In this scenario, a DVD set that would normally cost $60 costs just under $50!

Great shows both

I watch House religiously when it's first-run and there are enough re-runs on USA and random local networks that I don't need to buy the DVD's though.

Same with Friends and Seinfeld...I never have to worry about them not being there.

I usually just watch them online.... but if someone offered me a complete set of DVDs, I wouldn't say no.

Arrested Development
U.K. The Office

(I would include US Office but it's still on the air...)

And when you think about it...who else on that island were Ginger and MaryAnn going to hit it with without taking each other on? (hang on...I'm about to faint from the imagery, back in a second...)

Okay, I'm back

Sure...Gilligan might get a pity lay, but the Skipper? Mr. Howell? Come on. The Professor was the only viable option unless you count the Harlem Globetrotters.

I've now officially put too much thought into the sexual exploits of characters on a show whose last episode aired 10 years before I was born.

Interesting Imagery....

I think this deserves it's own thread.... :D

All of those possible combinations....

Curiously, you forgot to mention Mrs. Howell...
