It's about time we had a President who wasn't afraid of the Constitution to do what's right!

Obama was given a mandate by the American people for change, we have to support him now.

I totally support Obama and his policies, to do any thing less would just be plain Un-American!

Hopefully once he gets all of the guns off the street he can focus on recuperating all those tax dollars lost by writing off donations to religious organizations. Also I think it would behoove our government to tax the churches themselves; certainly that source of income could be utilized to save some of our nations newspapers! The government needs them to enlighten the people on whats best for them. By having the control of the press the government can squash such falsehoods as is distributed by unnamed conservatives who make a living on the radio, television, or through books which should be banned for the public's well-being!

Even though this post is obvious satire, I'm pretty sure I heard this same speech about W many times from the GOP... and that wasn't satire.

That being said, if Obama essentially forcing out the CEO of GM isn't a sign of the government looking looking to take further control of the auto industry, I'm not sure what is.

For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boa****l, arrogant, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of god; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

This has more to do with increasing the scope of government and government interventionism at home than it does with men being lovers of self or lovers of money...

It only begins with GM. Geithner will get the power he & Obama have requested & will be able to control ANY company they see fit. These powers include breaking contracts, firing people AND completely dissolving said company if Obama & he fell it is the "right" thing to do.

U.S. will guarantee GM, Chrysler warranties, Obama says
By NEIL ROLAND AND RICHARD TRUETT, AUTOMOTIVE NEWS

In a bid to boost flagging auto sales, the federal government will pay for any warranty repairs on a General Motors or Chrysler vehicle if either company can't because of financial problems or a bankruptcy filing, President Barack Obama said on Monday.

"Let me say this as plainly as I can. If you buy a car from Chrysler or General Motors, you will be able to get your car serviced and repaired just like always," Obama said in a speech. "Your warranty will be safe. In fact, it will be safer than it has ever been. Because starting today, the United States will stand behind your warranty."

So what you are saying, is that as soon as 51% of the people may oppose Obama's policy, you will gladly do whatever is needed to stop him, without fearing the Constitution.

Since the majority is the mandate.

Jack, again, it's not a matter of it being done so much as the level it's being
done at.
The nation as a whole does not produce in a full year the amount of money
that Obama has now given out.

He's up to 13 Trillion dollars and climbing.
Our entire nation only produce 14 Trillion last year.
The interest alone on that level of debt is over 850 Billion dollars per year.
No nation has that kind of money.
Especially one that is in an economic downturn cycle.

keep the faith, and I hope you're right and I'm wrong, but economics
tells me that it cannot work.
And it will destroy the nation trying to do it.

Bush started the process of handing out money to banks and auto manufacturers. These CEOs have proven to be incompetent in our beloved capitalistic system. Out they go. We, the taxpayers, now "OWN" those entities. Amd as far as I am concerned, Obama, our fearless leader, can fire all the executives! Let THEM know what it feels like to lose their jobs!

Be a thoughtful patriot of your country, not a mindless dittohead of some "politcal party."

Well, NO one else has a better idea of what to do. Not even the Republicans. The Republican's lame idea the other day was to give the rich ANOTHER tax cut!!!!!!
My gawd, it was Bush's repeated (3 or 4) 1.6 trillion tax cuts he gave the rich that put us in this mess...along with the war debt piled on top of it.

Until there is a better idea, we have to go with it.

Crony capitalism also contributed heavily to this mess. Look it up on Wikipedia. Good informative reading.

Bush started it?

What?

You have heard of FDR right? FDR donated the paltry sum of 900K to a company called FOMOCO, that would be Ford Motor Company in 1936.

Who started it?

And remember, Ford is currently aggressively pushing for Obama's wants, with the 2011 Fiesta, using "Agents of Change" to push for the 2-seat microcar in the US. Naturally, they will be driven by liberal youth activists trying to push America into microcars. No government money yet, but they have government agenda and Obama-style tactics.
