Honda had pulled the plug on their F1 team, or at least their involvement in the team. Their technical director, Ross Brawn, led a management buyout of the team and renamed it Brawn Grand Prix. He then secured Mercedes engines and some funding from British businessman Richard Branson.

This morning's F1 race in Melbourne, Australia saw Brawn claim a 1-2 finish with Jenson Button winning the race and Rubens Barrichello in second place.

The race was a great one, anybody else see it?

No. But it was crazy, and it seemed the ******** cars were whipped, the Vodafone cars were in trouble, and it seemed the Virgin, Red Bull, and Petronas cars are the stars of the series now.

New World Order?

Or will Malaysia tell the tale? Qualifying at 5 AM Saturday.

The FIA was in a tizzy, since the race was going to end 18 minutes before sunset and no lights. Bernie Ecclestone has become excessively greedy with races, demanding they race in perfect European time. That's why the Streets of Singapore replaced the US on the schedule last year with lights to allow F1 to race at night there -- so it will be afternoon in Europe. Abu Dhabi replaces the other NA race (Montréal) this year, and they are planning more races in places where federal governments are funding the races.
