It aired on Fox two nights this week. The first night, Wednesday, a competitor gave Obama a shout out during the conclusion of her performance. Thursday night, Stevie Wonder gave a shoutout when he sang his song and interjected the lyrics " I love you Obama" in the song. We must stop American Idol and it has to start here.

No politics necessary for me to pick #3...

Unless they start demanding Obama allegiance form their contestants, this controversy is worthy of one huge meh.

For cryin' out loud, please find something significant to be outraged over.

If you don't like what someone is shouting out on AI then don't vote for them. And change the channel. As far as Stevie Wonder, I'm sure they had no clue he'd do that. I suggest you don't buy his next CD as payback.

I don't like politics interjected into entertainment either but AI is a bit of a different format with numerous contestants and it being aired live. There isn't the control that you would have in something like a sitcom or movie.

It was on in another room while I was listening to Mark Levin. This is not a "for crying out loud" tactic. This is legitimate. Things like this, is what is going to engage these radicals and continue to keep on plugging along taking more than they already have. Your theory of " crying out loud" is the predilection of irrelevancy.

American Idol needs to be stopped not because of politics but because it promotes mediocre (at best) musicians.

I voted no because of something called freedom of speech. I may not like what a certain person says, but they do have the right to say it. That's when I get to use my right to boycott their music or movies. It's a great system.

Excellent point. You have a strong premise and it is truly accurate!

You have a valid point. I personally would not go out and buy a Stevie Wonder CD anyways. I like good music. So, what other way can I complain or take a position. I blogged it here because I wanted real conservative answers and responses. I was a lifelong Democrat. I loved Morton Downey Jr., however, then came Don Imus, then Mark Levin, then Rush and Sean. I have thrown my voter registrartion card out and changed sides, and am now Republican. I was a kid that thought Clinton was cool because he played a sax on MTV. Then came NAFTA. I voted for him again in 96 amid a scandal. I voted for Gore and his lies. I voted for Kerry and his lies. Holding my democrat voting card, I voted for John Mccain. I would do it again tomorrow. Thanks to all. I am a disabled police OIC and I am back in college. I am going for my Doctrine in Business. I hope the best for you and look forward to more converstions as I learn new things daily. When we stop learning we fail. God bless to all~Aaron

You reminded me of something hilarious on The Price Is Right. Host Drew Carey often calls it "bad news" when a contestant wins because they have to pay taxes on the nice prize. But he's quietly insulting Obamarama for high taxes.

This is the same host who had Showcase prizes include private jets to resorts -- poking fun at the corporate bigwigs by letting regular people fly private as prizes.
