This is a very strange situation that I have at home. I noticed that some pages had been viewed on Youtube that were not something I go onto. To the extent that you can be sexually explicit on youtube these were. We have 4 people in the house. Both adults did not go on. Only one child uses the internet and he swears over and over again that he did not visit these sites.
I believe because of who he is ( a 14 yo boy) my knowledge of him. Lets' for the moment believe me. So that means that someone has been able to use my computer lets say their parents blocked you tube so they go about it this way?
My questions is, is this a plausible explanation? How does someone do this and how to prevent this?
If so, what can I do to combat this.
I am 100% sure it's not my son so you don't need to go there.

Who is the 4th person in the home and do they have access to this computer?
As far as youtube,do you have an account and is your password private from all in the house or do you have it always logged in?

the 4th person is 8year old and wouldn't go on there. I have no account for youtube. The history of sites visited shows youtubes accessed via query's such as sexy step moms, my hot wife and so on, etc.
My question was, is it possible to have your home PC used similar to the open wireless where you can use someone's connection
but even there, does it show on your PC what someone else visited?

Someone used that computer to access the videos. You say you are sure it's not the 14 yr old boy so it must be one of the others in the house.
(When my son was 14 I didn't think he knew enough about the computer to access anything but always checked anyway. One day he and his friends were talking about something on the computer and I said, "You know I can track where you've been don't you." He surprised me by saying "You know I can cover my tracks, don't you." -- Where there's a will, there's a way. ;) )

So it has to be that someone physically went to youtube and accessed those videos?
It is not physically possible that the computer has been hijacked?
I know he plays games alot - is it possible that these sites go onto the Youtube? I don't see how but this would be the only explanation.

I don't see how it could not be someone in the home.

From what I understand about computers, someone would have to access youtube from your computer only for it to show up in your history. To access adult content on youtube (adult content meaning swear words and partial nudity) you need to have a name and password and be over 18. Is it possible, if you think your son didn't do it, maybe he has a friend who signed up for a youtube account? and accessed it while he was at your house?

That’s what he’s saying. The browser history in internet explorer logs each website that’s visited by that computer. If someone was using your wireless network to log in using your internet connection then only their computer browser would log what websites they visited. There wouldn’t be a log of their activity on yours.
The use of passwords is the easy way to prevent someone from going online when you don’t want them to. If your connection is “always on” then there must be a way to disconnect it when you want it off.
It is possible to receive a link to a website in e-mail or in forums like this so, if the link is "clicked" it is recorded in the browser history.

I do believe it is possible to have your computer hijacked by a third party to use for nefarious reasons and some of those reasons have been shown to be illegal porn.
However, most of the time you wouldn't even know it would be going on unless you noticed that your machine was moving slower and secondly I doubt it would show on your browser history.
The most logical explanation is that someone from you household has been using your computer to view those pages.

Someone was on that computer in your house and searched for the videos. My money is on one of the males in the household or one of their friends.

Yes, someone in your home has to access youtube via your computer for it to show up on your computer.
I don't know of any games that lead you to youtube. Everyone knows about youtube though and there's lots of music and movies on it. When you're on youtube, on the right hand side there's maybe about 20 videos that sometimes relate to the video being watched, so it's possible the person clicked on a link like that and didn't actively search for "sexy step moms, my hot wife and so on".

It was either your 14 year old or one of his friends. It could have been an honest mistake that he's just too embarassed to admit or he could be acting like pretty much every other 14 year old boy in the world.
The stuff on You Tube is generally harmless, but some of it is teaser trailer stuff for real porn sites.

Someone had to actually use that computer and access YouTube.

Remote control software can be used to run your computer from another location. PCAnyWhere is free and others can be had for a small price. GoToMyPC, PCNow, Radmin, Laplink, etc. depending on your taste and budget.
Check to see if any of those programs are loaded on your computer, and if so you need to disable them. But be carefule because some of those programs hack into and modify your system so if they are disabled they crash your computer. Good luck.

Could it have been a Youtube video embedded in another page?
Check what else was accessed at around the same time as the "offense".
Also, make yourself an Administrator on the machine, and give everyone their own login. Much easier to track who does what in the future.

My bet is the 14 year old has a friend that was 'showing' him stuff. And because he wasn't literally wtih his fingers on the keyboard he can say 'it wasn't me!"
Btw, how can you be 100% sure about anything, ever? Unless he's in a coma? Dear Lord, he's 14, that's a LOT of hormones racing. Might not be something that he does a lot or has done before, but at 14 he's going to be interested in girls.
What he may be completely UNinterested in is discussing that fact with his parents.
I remember being 14, you would have had to torture me to get the truth about what was going on inside of my head, sexually speaking. I was female, so it's a bit different, but hormonally, the drive is usually either on or starting to turn on by then.
When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras. Get a software program that takes screenshots of all usage. That will tell you what is going on.
However, if it were me, I'd assume that it's him and start a conversation about it. Sans hyperbole or upset.

Someone at the house is lying to you. If the computer in question is your personal property, you need to password protect it, so no one else but you can use it.
