Our client is a Global Manufacturing Company wit over 60,000 employees.
This position is a part of the Global Benefit Financing, Treasury Accounting area, in which they:
o Account for 40 US benefits plans
o Oversee the investment of over $6 billion of worldwide pension assets to fulfill corporate fiduciary role
o Manage accounting and disclosure for 70 pension and retiree medical plans worldwide
o Support portfolio and restructuring actions
o Support development of strategies to address legacy costs
o Manage treasury accounting and controls environment
o Maintain accounting records for benefit plans
o Manage Treasury SOX compliance
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
o Function as the primary point of contact for consultants, internal staff and outside investment managers to appropriately diversify employee benefit assets within acceptable levels of risk
o Recommends and implements investment manager transitions
o Reports employee benefit asset activity to the Investment Committee and recommend changes as necessary
o Oversees the timely development and delivery of reports on investment portfolios worldwide
o Function as the primary point of contact for Human Resources and Legal on projects involving benefit assets
o Direct responsibility for controls, processes and reporting tools used in employee benefit asset reporting
o Performs due diligence reviews of existing or proposed investments and provide reports to management
o Maintains strong working relationships with consultants, managers, trustees/custodians, and internal customers
o Recommends funding alternatives to management for employee benefit plans
o Oversees preparation of reports on employee benefit assets to regulatory agencies
o Manages internal staff
o Coordinate with international associates to improve pension fund results worldwide
o Manage multinational employee benefit pools to lower company risk
o Provides a consistently high level of internal and external customer service
o Performs other duties and special assignments as assigned by the Director, Global Benefit Financing and other members of the Treasury Management Team
Qualifications:
Required-
o Bachelor or higher level degree in Business with major in Accounting or Finance
o CFA designation
o Minimum 5 years experience in accounting or finance or MBA with concentration in Accounting/Finance
o Solid understanding and working knowledge of ERISA, IRS and DOL regulations on employee benefit assets
o Working knowledge of pension actuarial sciences
o Demonstrated success in leading team projects
o Must maintain confidentiality and strict adherence to Business Conduct Manual as this position interacts with various levels of management on highly confidential studies
o Must conduct business of pension asset management with strong fiduciary standards
o Excellent communication skills including effective presentation skills
o Ability to work under pressure, adjust to changing priorities, and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
o Skills in improving processes and procedures, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to financial issues, while ensuring compliance with all Corporate policies and procedures
o Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines
o Timely completion of ad hoc analyses with an appropriate level of attention to detail and accuracy
o Strong institutional investment management understanding
o Capability to interact with all organization levels; ranging from entry level associates toSenior Leadership Management Team
o Prior supervisory experience and the ability to display interest, skill, and success in getting subordinates to learn and work together within a team focused work environment
o Strong analytical and data management skills; must exhibit the ability to interpret complex/conflicting data and identify problems by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach, anticipating the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies
