Outrage!... Protesters Rally In Support of Oakland Cop Killer/child rapist

About 60 people marched and rallied in Oakland on Wednesday to condemn the police and honor Lovelle Mixon, who was killed by Oakland police after he fatally shot four officers Saturday.

"OPD you can't hide - we charge you with genocide," chanted the demonstrators as they marched along MacArthur Boulevard, near the intersection with 74th Avenue where Mixon, 26, a fugitive parolee, gunned down two motorcycle officers who had pulled him over in a traffic stop. He killed two more officers who tried to capture him where he was hiding in his sister's apartment nearby.

The protest was organized by the Oakland branch of the Uhuru Movement, whose flyers for the march declared, "Stop Police Terror." Many marchers wore T-shirts featuring Mixon's photo, including a woman identified by march organizers as Mixon's mother. The woman declined to comment and gave her name only as Athena.

One day before parolee Lovelle Mixon killed four Oakland police officers, he was linked by DNA evidence to the rape of a 12-year-old girl. On February 5th the girl was taken off the street, had a bag placed over her head and was taken to an abandoned building in Oakland where numerous sexual acts were performed.

First off, these Police Officers were just doing what they are paid to do, Enforce the Law. I am still wondering how in the heck any of this could be called racist. I really don't know how it could be called racist if the Officers were "the same color as them".

I guess we need to require our Law Enforcement Officers to only enforce the Law when dealing with violators that are the same race/religian/sexual persuasion/political persuation, as the offender.

This would require a Gay, Hispanic, Jewish, Republican to look the other way when they saw a Black, Hetero, Catholic, Democrat violating the Law.

I went to the website of the group that organized the protest and I am having problems expressing how this had made me feel.

The murderers actions according to them were the result of years of oppression for a whole community. My god whatever happened to personal responsbility.

It is this type of thinking by this group that causes far more racial tension than anything the police could do.

It is sad whenever a human life is lost but to be honest, this guy was not contributing anythng to society he was just taking and taking. I wont shed a tear over his death.

Like every other major US city Oakland has its share of issues. Distrust in the law enforcement and very depressed employment. NO jobs as it was before this economy meltdown but even worse now. The school district has been taklen over by the state due to horrible mismanagement.

Desprate people do desprate things. The thug and drug problems go deeper then the Oakland Police can handle. To get Oakland back on track there would need to be a few swat teams, OPD, and maybe the national guard to do whole sweeps throwing the constution out the window in order to ace all the bad people from the city. That will never happen.

The very thought that someone who kills 4 people be them officers if the law or not needs to be called a hero or be commended for their actions is deplorable and dosent represent the peoples views. There are people that make careers out of protesting. They pledge their life on it no matter what the cause or just how wrong it really is. A man was shot on new years eve in oakland by a BART trainsit cop. There were massive demonstrations following the shooting. People took to the streets and this brought out the thuggs and ones who only sought to take advantage of the moment by burning buildings and cars. Today that cop is in jail for murder.

Oaklands police department gets alot of mud thrown at them over " Unjustified shootings ". The press isnt always acuate in their reporting of what actually happens. They tell the public that " Last night Oakland police shot 2 men who drove a stolen car then bolted ..... " What they dont say is that the men were told to drop their weapons and stop. The men didnt so officers shot them. If a cop yells to you to STOP or orders you do do something, you need to do it.


Frankly it wouldnt surprize me if from now on, every time a cop stops a car hed have his gun drawn, speeding, a seat belt, whatever. Oakland is dangerious and these cops know it.
