With teen pregnancy numbers in North America still way too high for comfort, I stumbled on this article and it made me think... let's go Dutch. What do you think?

It's a brilliant article, IMO. I'd post it all but it's too long.

We can't do that! Sex is DIRTY! And if you tell teens about it they will immediately go out and engage in orgies with bodies slathered in baby oil and...Um, what were we talking about again?

I'm definately a frim beleiver in answering a child's questions about sex and reproduction and thier bodies in an AGE appropriate manner. Whether it should be compolsary in schools at the age of 5, I'm not so sure about all that.

It works though. Their teen pregnancy rates should be proof enough.

5 is a bit young for discussing "sex".

I don't have a problem with parents accepting the fact that their children are smart enough to realize that if they are a girl or boy, that roughly half of their friends are the opposite of what they are.

Parents should be be open and answer questions as honestly as possible, and word it in a way that is appropriate for the age of their child. There would then be little need for "sex ed" classes in any stage of schooling.

I don't see this happening though...

Possibly. At times some cultures just stop reproducing as much...its cyclic.
