Good Golly Miss Molly, we have had it. We created global warming, meat eater disease, Booooooosh derangement, and have alienated the planet.

Eating Red Meat Linked to Early Death (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,510255,00.html)

Largest study of its kind finds Americans who eat large amounts of red meats face a greater risk of death

This propaganda goes back to at least 1984 when Billy Rosewood informed Sgt. Taggart that the average American male of his age was carrying around five pounds of undigested red meat in his bowels, and that Taggart ate a lot of red meat. Taggart didn't like hearing about it either.

Hey Pete, what is your opinion of this little gem, courtesy of Matt Drudge.

UK is nuts or what?

Green advisor urges UK to cut population in half to 'build sustainable society'... (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article5950442.ece)

Many (whacked out liberal) "experts" believe that, since Europeans and Americans have such a lopsided impact on the environment, the world would benefit more from reducing their populations than by making cuts in developing countries.
This is part of the thinking behind the OPT’s call for Britain to cut population to 30m — roughly what it was in late Victorian times.

Ehhh, the 'population control' types are all over. I think they're probably exactly correct about sustainability, and have exactly zero workable ideas on how to about implementing them. I'm more of the school of the tried and true forms of population control, wars, famine, disease....the old standbys. These things pretty much always work themselves out.

And we got Sheryl Crow last year wanting to save the Earth one toilet paper square at a time. She proposed “a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting” and perhaps “just washing that one square out.”

Snake out a couple of toilets when your kids are potty training and one square at a time sounds like the smartest thing anyone ever said about anything.

The sharp teeth in my mouth force me to eat meat.

The flat ones whine until I eat some greens...

And my tummy accepts and loves anything either of those two groups decide is good enough to travel down the magic tube.

Lord love a duck, what WIMPS these Green Freaks be.

Terrified of dying -- when dying starts the minute they're born.

They'll live groveling in misery, denying themselves the joy of being alive, so they can avoid what's going to happen anyway no matter what they do or don't do.

:wall:

EAT, folks, because tomorrow you sure as hell ARE going to die.

Eat, then get outside in the sunshine and bat that ball with the kids, piddle in the garden, walk around under the trees and smell the glories of living.

LIVE life to the fullest -- because burn out is better than to sit and rust out terrified that you might die if.........

Which said, I need me one of those cream-filled chocolate covered eclairs........... just to top off this next cuppa coffee

-Imagine my surprise at right wingers having a problem with a SCIENTIFIC study. I suppose that ya'll think the studies linking smoking to cancer are bogus too?
-Look, over a ten year study, these researchers found that those who eat 1/3 of a pound of meat a day have a shorter life expectancy. It is what it is.
-As usual, do as you will, but now you have the knowledge to affect outcomes. And of course we're all gonna die. The issue here is: are you going to hasten that death with your diet?

I'd rather die young ENJOYING life than live long and miserable, fretting and worrying and tensing up over every bite of food I put in my mouth.

Wonder what all that fretting and stewing about food does to hypertension problems, anyway?

BALANCE, silly. Eat what you want, but not more than you need for the physical work you do.

And the real problem is a bunch of COUCH POTATOES who sit on their well-fed butts zombie-ing in front of a dumb ass tv or computer screen and NEVER smell fresh air or feel the sun on their fat little materialist faces except on their way to and from the car.

Don't eat meat, don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, go green - and die. We're all dying from the day we're born. Moderation is the key. A steak a week never killed anyone.

Well common sense would tell you, that eating very fatty cuts of red meat (or any prodduct animal/vegetable cooked in fats)...will increase your risk of heart disease, doy.

I like to score a 2 lb. London Broil from the local market for about 5 bucks, bring it home, inject some garlic into it and cook it on the grill.

After its cooked, I slice it in half shortways, and put it in the fridge for a half hour or so to cool.

I then bust out the meat slicer, and gently shave the Broil into a delicious pile of 1/8" thick slices.

The slices are then "crumple stacked" onto a freshly baked, sliced in half, loaf of Italian bread, lightly smothered in chopped onions & diced Pepperoncini, and finally, blanketed with Mozzarella cheese.

The sandwich is then layed on a sheet of aluminum foil, which is wrapped up to the half slice cut of the bread to avoid burning, and placed back on the grill.

2 minutes later, its taken off the grill, the cheese meniscus is gently broken with a fork along the entire length of the sandwich, and an Au Jus sauce is sparingly applied through the newly opened cheese pocks.

Liberally apply horseradish to the bread, remove the aluminum foil, and enjoy.

Reserve the remainder of Au Jus, or substitute any favorite dipping sauce for enhancement.

I love red meat, light meat, fruit and vegetables BUT this right winger wants a scientific study probing the amount and types of pesticides, herbicides and fungicides that are present in fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables. I betcha it wouldn't be pretty.
Call me crazy and shoot me down if I be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that I heard somewhere that those chemicals are linked to early death too.

Once again, BALANCE is the key. We all know it.

You can remedy that by eating organic fruits and vegetables grown without pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.

Organic is liberal propaganda...

My dad ate fruits and veggies packed full of pesticides every day of his life...ate a side of beef a week, two pounds of bacon each morning...raw eggs...drank a gallon of whiskey a day...and four packs of non-filtered Camels a day.

Lived to the grand old age of 42.

I'm not buying this health ********. :snooty:

I was at the grocery store and while in the cereal aisle overheard two stocking employees complaining rather vehemently about "Organic" products (they were stocking boxes of cereals next to some organic cereals)

I thought, why does anyone care if some people want to pay a little more for products that are free of biocides?

Well, at least for now you still accpet that I have a right to eat what I want. I'm sure as soon as you get your Universal Health Care in place you'll be able to use studies like this to try to dictate what I can eat.

Doesn't matter to me, it's their money they are wasting.

We stopped by an organic supermarket last week...only because they've got a nice wine selection...We were walking around and I was shocked at the prices of some of the items on the shelf.

Organic Mayonaise, $6...screw you Hellman's is $3.50.

I do have to wonder how much of that **** is just the same thing with a different label though??

People live longer now than they ever have, with all the advances in medical science and technology it only seems right. I don't buy into the "this causes cancer, or this causes phlebitis of the blowhole junk."

Truth is they don't know what causes anything....the truth is **** happens.

Mayo contains eggs...it is much more expensive to raise chickens if you don't inject them full of antibiotics.

There are criteria in place to be lableled as USDA Organic, but I am sure there are many loopholes.

People live longer now than they ever have, with all the advances in medical science and technology it only seems right. I don't buy into the "this causes cancer, or this causes phlebitis of the blowhole junk."
I agree that people blow things out of proportion (like the whole Bisphenol A scare)...but as a scientist, I have no doubt that there are SOME negative effects related to the consumption of many biocides (I mean, come on...we design and use them to kill organisms)
