McFarlane is a flaming lib. From calling McCain/Palin Nazi's to them making fun of Rush, Hannity and Coulter. They have a funny show but don't turn into the Simpsons and get real world politics into it.

McFarlane's a hack......South Park nailed Family Guy on that point.......
"Don't you ever, ever compare me to Family Guy, you hear me Kyle? Compare me to Family Guy again, and, so help me, I will kill you where you stand! Do you have any idea what it's like? Everywhere I go: "Hey Cartman you must like Family Guy, right?" "Hey, your sense of humor reminds me of Family Guy, Cartman!" I am nothing like Family Guy! When I make jokes, they are inherent to a story! Deep situational and emotional jokes based on what is relevant and has a point, not just one random interchangeable joke after another!"

Family guy makes fun of a lot of stuff: retarded people, people with disabilities, bestiality, etc.....so where's the outrage over that? Oh that's right it....partisian hacks can't be bothered until it makes fun of something like their beloved media outlet. Seriously, if you can't get upset about all the other inappropriate jokes on Family Guy, you have no credibility with this complaint with me.

I liked Family Guy until I saw them do a skit on "The John McCain Experience". Peter locked himself inside of a bamboo cage and said "I want to be president" while crying.
Political humor I can deal with. I don't begrudge them on that. This went way out of the realm of tastelessness. That was outright insulting to John McCain and every other American POW who has ever been brutalized by their captors. Haven't watched it since.
South Park did rip them a new one though.

That was the first tasteless thing you were able to find on Family Guy? That's amazing.
South Park also has a lot of tasteless humor.
So again, you can't say you dont' watch it because it's has BECOME tasteless, it's been tasteless for some time now, it just happend something you saw actually OFFENDED you.

Considering a poll done by various news organizations found that Fox News was the least bias in the last presidential election, I don't buy that argument.

I have a sense of humor about certain things. Are you outraged because I wasn't outraged before now? No, some things don't warrant a thread on a forum. That was what cut the cord for me. Sure, i've turned it off a few times (because I have that choice) but that's my choice to do so.
The thing is that I "got it" long ago. It's just another copy cat show trying to emulate South Park, but with a leftie bias. It tried to "push the limits" but since the creator is less than half as intelligent as the guys running South Park, it failed. All they can hope to do is offend enough to stir up controversy. It really isn't worth the words we're typing, to be honest.

do we applaud fox for airing a show that slams them as being 'blind' to the content and allowing for the creativity of their artists
or
see them as money grubbing capitalists who'd put aside their own 'brand' for the sake of a dollar?

I can't wait to see the episode. I do enjoy Family Guy, South Park, King of the Hill, etc. They're all very different kinds of comedy.
Really, I don't look to far into it. FG is always mocking its own network, anyways. Maybe McFarlane got a hold of "Outfoxed", or maybe he just has a sense of humor.

Precisely
In the episode that aired 3/15, Peter entered a horse into a race. Every horse in the race was named after a cancelled Fox show (Standoff and Firefly were two of them), until they got to Peter's horse, which was named "'Til Death"...leading to this exchange.
Lois- You named your horse "'til Death"?
Peter- Because I'm going to shove it down America's throat
McFarlane's been doing this for years. He knows he can get away with trashing Fox because he DRAWS VIEWERS.
Get over it, people!

Yes, they're both owned by parent company News Corp., which owns everything from MySpace to the Wall Street Journal and, yes, FOX (with Family Guy) and FOX News...and FOX Business Channel!
But wait! There's more!
It owns Harper Collins Books, 20th Century Fox Studios (movies), the NY Post, and the channel FX.
And that's just the beginning...
Rupert Murdoch is the CEO of News Corp., and quite a successful, self-made man. Worth $5 billion, last I saw.

Yes there is truth in satire. However there is also other content involved such as political opinions, agendas, religious convictions and in Family Guys case the shows creator continually tries to portray his own views in a good light. Does the show go over the line? Perhaps but its a comedy show. If it offends you----Change the channel. Leave the 1st amendment alone!

In Family Guy's own style - Remember that time when Family Guy was funny?
( I guess you did there. )
That show died for a reason. Why it was raised from the dead ... I have no clue - was funny for a while, but it died quick for me. Real quick.

It was raised from the dead for its popularity and for the large amount of money it made for Fox from DVD sales.

I'm assuming you didn't see the episode where Bill Clinton gets high with Peter and has sex with Lois. That entire episode is poking fun at Clinton. Or Clinton walking naked to the mailbox to get his mail singing a song in a different episode. Those are two just off the top of my head. Or making fun of Richard Gere, or Sharon Stone or any of the crazy leftists in Hollywood. I'm assuming you don't actually watch the show.

Just so I'm clear on this. You say you watch the show yet you don't remember them making fun of Democrats or leftists very much. I give you some examples off the top of my head. Now you say that you watch the show and you think Seth McFarlane is a leftist. Well one, he is a liberal guy. If you ever watch any of his interviews or director's commentaries you would know that. So that isn't exactly a surprise. But he makes fun of both sides. He makes fun of both sides because righties and lefties leave themselves open to parody and ridicule. That's why the show is so freakin funny. So once again I go back to you not really watching the show all that much. Otherwise you would know that.

OK, I love Family Guy. There was an episode about Bill Clinton that completely skewered him. Peter goes off with Bill and they get high and chase women.
At the end Peter says, "Well, Well. I learned something today. Apparently there's the side of Bill Clinton the world knows, and then there's the dark, sex-crazed side only I know!"
