And you wonder why "the blacks" don't vote Republican.

Who gives a ****?

They make of themselves their own worst enemies, empowering predatory and immoral disgusting fools like Rangel and Obama and Wright, who guarantee the destruction of the Equal Opportunity to bust their butts like the rest of us do to provide their own kids a positive, self-actualizing education -- and then blame everybody except themselves when their kids dropout, wipe out, and destroy themselves in one brutal bit of violence after another -- and diss the hell out of decent hardworking Blacks who DID bust their butts to get themselves out of the ghettos.

NOBODY merits the right to hang around on street corners showing their filthy butt cracks to the rest of the world and shooting off their damned violent mouths in SCORN for social inter-responsibility while stuffing their guts with food bought with the HONEST LABOR of others.

I have all the respect in the universe for Blacks who get honest jobs and work their asses off -- including minimum wage and low social status work -- to provide their kids with a decent home without the gangs and the thuggery and the drugged out zombie violence and the sex freak predatory consumption of their own "friends" and their own "families"

-- and NONE FOR THE WORTHLESS FILTH WHO DEMAND A FREE RIDE INTO HELL and work their asses off to make the world they live in as vicious, corrupt, and brutal as they work to make life for others.

Like any other segment of the population, there are HONORABLE Blacks and CORRUPT ARROGANT AND WORTHLESS Blacks.

And the corrupt, arrogant, aggressive, WORTHLESS DEMANDERS AND THUGS back Obama because he promises them Top Power Pig status, the power to corrupt and steal and destroy ALL HONEST HUMAN BEINGS, and a FREE RIDE TO HELL for everyone, Blacks first and Whites second. Like Franks: as disgusting a form of corrupted humanity as ever walked the earth.

That support for a COMMON THUG makes those who back Obama pretty damned worthless to the rest of society, rather like a new AIDS virus or a radiation-resistant form of cancer: death for civilization and common human decency, DEATH for Equal Opportunity for ALL human beings, regardless of skin color.

All respect to HONORABLE Blacks who work damned hard to be honest, dedicated teachers and HONEST lawyers (not the crooked cheats like Obama and Michelle -- honest lawyers who don't use the law as a club for bashing hell out of civilization itself) and DEVOTED doctors and MEN OF HONEST FAITH -- unlike that total piece of falsehood and treachery, the so NOT Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

I have ZERO respect for the Obama Hate-Destroy Club -- they have not EARNED respect. They've earned only the same scorn and disgust that Ayers and his ilk deserve, the same scorn that any other mafia gang and common criminal deserves.

What makes it tasteless exactly?

Are you being a racist? Because if you think it's tacky to compare Obama to a fictional character just because that character is black, then that would make you racist.

This was not racist... or tasteless and it's the same principle.

I will say this much, President Obama does seem the overly proud and vain sort to be trapped in a sticky situation just like Braer Rabbit was. And I guarantee you that there are plenty of foxes smarter than he is about politics and diplomacy ... and they won't play by his house rules either.

Problem is, he'll be punching our fist into the tar baby at the same time too.

OMG!!! :))

OK, FYI for folks on Song of the South.

"Song of the South" has been technically "banned" by Disney here in the United States. You cannot buy a Home Video copy of it unless you get it in the PAL European Version and have it converted over.

We actually did that. It's an interesting film. Uncle Remus is actually a father figure for the young man in the film. The kid has a indifferent mother and Dad is off away.

While there are sterotypes in the movie, Uncle Remus is portrayed as a positive character in the movie.

Rhet, you blast the current estabishment, and spew hate, but offer no solutions? No matter who is in control we need more ideas others then "cut off their heads". It is so easy to be critical, but can you offer any allternitive suggestions?

while Uncle Remus is a fictional character spawned by the racist politics of the post-war white South (http://www.mythfolklore.net/3043mythfolklore/reading/remus/extras/dial_plantation_review.htm). This Uncle Remus character is used by Harris as a kind of "black-face (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackface)" in print, something like a literary minstrel show (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minstrel_show). Harris is white, but he writes as a black man, much like the white singers and comedians who appeared as "black" on the stage.

What really astounding is peoples comments about the Song of the South and the portrayal of the Uncle Reamus character in the movie.

The Song of the South has NOT been seen in Movie theaters since 1986, and has NEVER been released on Home Video here in the United States.

So, unless we have a ton of posters who actually went to see this movie back in 1986 or like me, actually said to hell with Disney's self imposed "ban" of the movie and got a European PAL version of the movie and converted it to US standards, I'd say they have no idea of how Uncle Remus is portrayed.

Is there stereotypes in the movie? Yes. Is Uncle Remus portrayed negatively? I didn't see that... In fact he is looked upon as a surrogate father figure by the "white kid" in the movie.

The former, not really because he tried to portray himself as kind of a cowboy/ranchhand type of person, the latter would be considered racist if it was put out by a black run organization.

Etiquette isn't a binary thing... it really depends on the context, the audience, the presenter, and other circumstances.

It doesn't matter if the character was portrayed as a positive person, it's still a black stereotype considered offensive by many people. Likewise you couldn't put Michelle Obama's face on a picture of Aunt Jamima and claim innocence because people like maple syrup on their pancakes.

This imagery is just as offensive as the special olympics comment that Obama made. Both were done in the name of being funny and both were made (I assume) without the intention to insult blacks or the mentally retarded. Despite that, both are offensive to some people.

if you think casting a prominant black person( let alone the first black president ) as a " happy slave " is somehow not going to be viewed as being offensive by a good majority of blacks then you are very out of touch with making a judgement about what black people consider insulting versus just a stereotype.

if you think casting a prominant black person( let alone the first black president ) as a " happy slave " is somehow not going to be viewed as being offensive by a good majority of blacks then you are very out of touch with making a judgement about what black people consider insulting versus just a stereotype. Isn't that what socialism is about? Being happy slaves.

first blacks ( and quite a few otehr people of various races ) dont view Uncle Remus as folksy or humble and recognize him for what he is - and that pic wasnt one meant for "po'folks" - it was meant to insult Obama and cast him as an "stepin fetchit"-type of character.

Let's see. Obama isn't from the South. Obama doesn't speak with the kind of accent that the stereotype Uncle Remus speaks with. Obama doesn't wear a beard. Obama doesn't dress like Uncle Remus. And Obama wasn't "poor," or "humble," or "folksy" in the way Uncle Remus was. Nor does Obama break into song ala Uncle Remus. Additionally, Obama isn't uneducated like Uncle Remus was. THOSE are some of the stereotypes.

Read the lyrics and read the name. It fits to describe what Obama is doing to this country. Had I been able to make his actions fit the name of Jay Gatsby, David Copperfield (Clinton was "Cop-A-Feel") or any other great character of literature, then I would have used that. Do we avoid black stereotypes now? Or avoid stereotypes all together. If Obama was characterized as a rap gansta or a Rev Wright preacher, would that pass the code of ethics. Have you not been avoiding black stereotypes?

You remember what our parents and/or our teachers use to say to us as kids: "Think before you speak." That rule still applies. As shown by this thread, clearly there are some people who are amused by this type of humor just like there are people who like to make fun of Barney Frank's homosexuality. As a supporter of free speech, I'm not going to say one shouldn't make such comments or jokes or whatever... just be aware of your audience and make sure you aren't offending anybody who you don't want to offend.

I'm fairly positive that the OP didn't create this graphic with the goal of offending black people.

And people are free to listen to your 'reason' AND draw their own conclusions. Some people may take you at your word and agree with your reasoning. Other people just might not take you at your word.

Regardless, you might want to take note of what the author, Joel Chandler Harris, himself said in the forward to the book. Keep in mind that this is the author to whom you said you probably owed an apology.
Harris himself said, in the introduction to Uncle Remus, that he hoped his book would be considered:

Now, please tell me how a book (and hence, the character) that the author himself described as a "wonderful defense of slavery as it existed in the South" could be considered as anything other than racist.

That's gonna leave a mark...

Do you REALLY think Sean Hannity would look at this thread and say, "Yeah, those are MY people!"?

Do we avoid black stereotypes now? Or avoid stereotypes all together. If Obama was characterized as a rap gansta or a Rev Wright preacher, would that pass the code of ethics. Are we really upset about the stereotype because it rings true to Obama himself?

Are you really serious? Would you think it was funny if someone photoshopped a Mexican politician as Speedy Gonzales or other characters that were used to mock Mexicans in the past???

nah

first blacks ( and quite a few otehr people of various races ) dont view Uncle Remus as folksy or humble and recognize him for what he is - and that pic wasnt one meant for "po'folks" - it was meant to insult Obama and cast him as an "stepin fetchit"-type of character.

lets not pretend that Uncle Remus is something other than what Uncle Remus is.

It seems that a few people are "pretending", I'd have more respect for them if they just expressed their true "sentiments" instead of all of this passive aggressive crap, that when confronted they could always hide behind the "I was only joking" shield...............

First of all, while I don't defend it at all, the talk about Obama being half-black or half-white sounds most to me like a response to all the excitement over electing a black president, not racism. And we've already been over the OP of this thread.

:)) I'd like to see how some of those same people who say that President Obama is "50% White, 45% Arab, and 5% Black", would describe him, if one of their daughters bought him home as their boyfriend.......

Most definitely! But it's kind of smart and works sometimes. I gotta go, but I'll say one last thing. Why does anyone need to tweek this kind of stuff to make the point that Obama's policies are crap? Just lay out the argument. Stuff like this does not further political thought or change minds. It doesn't help to change the attitude of people in this country, towards less government, towards ending deficit spending, towards taxing people to death.

When I laugh at watching a 3 Stooges movie does that make me an anti Semite? True.

And include any who happens to not adhere to the liberal's idea as to the way blacks or anyone should behave. For liberals it's not really a matter of color, or any of their false cannards, but of ideology and power (if not well intentioned naivety).

Republican, or conservative leaning folks could never be color neutral, i.e. color blind. As conservatives we are either white rascists or "Uncle Tom". Black conservatives, aren't actually black, being conservative changes that somehow. We can't talk about race, or use language that could in anyway be related to race, as in doing so we are "rascists."

Liberals and or democrats make a color blind society impossible, as without race as a weapon, they would be substantially weakened. A color blind society does not work for liberals, so we may never have it.

What's that old saying? Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. -- George Santayana

For what it's worth, here's my take on where this could be heading.

Some people are going to be emboldened by this kind of sig line. Others may be desensitized by it. So, it will probably become more commonplace and edgier at the same time. And, eventually, it will draw some attention (as in unwanted attention) from some other corner of the media. That's going to end up being an embarrassment to both Sean Hannity and ABC, and it will end up generating a late nght phone call from someone who's royally ticked off, and that person will order someone to clean up the site OR ELSE.

I wasn't aware that Sean posted on this forum.

The truth is that people get banned and posts (and threads) get removed all the time for various reasons. What that means is that not everything that's posted here is allowed to stay here just because someone places it here.

The fact of the matter is that this forum doesn't have HawkeyeLonewolf's real name on it. It has Sean Hannity's name on it. Therefore, the images posted here reflect on the person whose name is on the forum.
