What was Barry's Take on Congressional Raises during this Great Deppression?...
I Mean, he was Fairly Dishonestly Cranky at his Campaign Contributors @ AIG for giving Performance Bonuses that were Contractually Mandated...
So what's his Take on all of Millionaires in Congress giving themselves a Raise on the Taxpayers Dime?...
:)

No Contracts...
They Vote... Thier Heart and Souls... You would HOPE...
They are all basically Millionaires...
The Symbolic Gesture in these Times would have been Statesmanlike...
Instead, they gave themselves a Raise.
What Would Barry Do?... WWBD©
^Yeah... I Own that Bitch.

Maybe there should be a written contract then. Apparently the verbal (spoken oath) isn't enough.

I thought we were on the same page. But maybe you think we're in a different book altogether.

perhaps we the people should make a loud cry about this until they agree to forgo the last raise they gave themselves.
With people losing jobs all over the place it's not right that they make more now is it?
My company told everyone that we were not getting any raises this year, although we had better than expected financial performance last year.. why? Anticipation of hard times ahead. We got the line "just be glad you have a job in these times." Though thanks to Obama many of us will lose our jobs in the next 24 months.
Congress has a lot of gall voting themselves raises at this time.:twisted:

He probably has no problem with Congressional raises as they are helping him with his agenda....
As for being cranky with AIG, it's like he loves to bite the hand that fed him. Its not new, he is going to tax everyone in this country to death -- and for those souls that voted for him, for the most part, they will be hit the hardest and cause much more devastation in their lives than the conservatives.
He is a big one for biting the hand that feeds....

He could care less, what is he going to do, get the populace in a tizzy by coming out and telling the Jay Leno crowd that Congress got a raise?
Pfftt, that wouldn't benefit him politically, it would hurt him. Obama only gets "outraged" at things that help him and his agenda, everything else is above his pay grade it seems.

Thanks for bringing up this issue, Mal. Been thinking about it...
I've always wondered how the Congress has earned the ability to vote itself a rise. (I use 'earn' loosely...)
The Founding Fathers were brilliant. Did they ever say anything about this? Has Congress always been allowed to vote its pay, or was there ever a time when the people had to do a sort of referendum?

Ohhhhh yes. Thanks. I should have remembered the Watson story.
"Boehner v. Anderson" was what I was interested in, apparently.
So, someone who is more educated than I.......
If the COLA allows them to vote their own raises, what good is XXVII?
