Even though the average (1979-2000) date that marks the peak of Arctic sea ice has past (approximately March 1st,) this season, the ice continues to expand... and thicken.

Boy with all the signs in opposition to global warming, can we finally tell Al Gore to shut the hell up?

Excerpts from the front page of the OP's link. Looking at February:
http://www.nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/
Arctic sea ice extent continued to increase through the month of February, as it approaches its annual maximum. Ice extent averaged for February 2009 is the fourth-lowest February in the satellite record.
From February 18 to 22, ice extent declined from 14.89 million square kilometers (5.75 million square miles) to 14.80 million square kilometers (5.71 million square miles), before rebounding at the end of the month. Such ups and downs are not unusual at this time of year, as ice extent nears its annual maximum.
February 2009 compared to past Februaries
Monthly average ice extent for February 2009 was the fourth lowest in the satellite record. February 2005 had the lowest ice extent for the month; February 2006 was the second lowest; and February 2007 is in third place. Including 2009, the downward linear trend in February ice extent over the satellite record stands at –2.8% per decade.

Imaginary signs anchored in fantasy dirt aren't all that reliable. Agree with plans to ameliorate GW or not, it really is happening.
Millions of years of solar energy, trapped as hydrocarbons.
Two hundred years to release it.
When it would not otherwise have been released.

Of course... that is to be expected. The sea ice is in recovery from its previous seasonal low in 2007 when unprecedented (since the advent of satellite observation in 1979 anyway) volumes of multi-year ice was pushed out of the Arctic into the North Atlantic by unusually persistent winds coming out of Siberia. Last year the ice cover was greater than the previous year and this year it is more extensive than that. It cannot recover all at once since it takes a minimum of three years to produce multi-year ice. The fact is though... the ice is in recovery at the moment. Only time will tell if the recovery will continue, but since the PDO has now reversed after 30 years in the positive phase (which coincides quite nicely with the graph you posted,) the probability is quite good that it will.

Have you ever noticed the same people who say global warming has been happening for the last 200 years, are the same ones who blame America for all the world's ills? Is it just a coincidence?

There was a time in history when Greenland lived up to it's name.... we are no where near the level of warming. We seem to be witnessing a global cooling period now.

If this post demonstrates your understanding with regard to the release of energy from "trapped hydrocarbons" as it relates to global warming, it is pathetic.

I have a standing offer to anyone on our coasts of an even swap, their place for mine 532 feet above sea level, and I will pay to move them.
So far no takers...
