While not exactly a film buff, Gordon Brown was touched when Barack Obama gave him a set of 25 classic American movies – including Psycho, starring Anthony Perkins on his recent visit to Washington.
Alas, when the PM settled down to begin watching them the other night, he found there was a problem.
The films only worked in DVD players made in North America and the words "wrong region" came up on his screen.

Perhaps he should have given him a signed copy of his book.... Then again both would have the same effect of making the British PM go to bed early.

you have to admit...this is plain tacky.
give someone a gift that is USELESS. After you've been given something of great significance.

I think Rush or Sean ought to send the PM the correct versions of the movies, and ask Brown to send the ones he got back here, to Rush or Sean.
then Sean/Rush can auction them off on E-bay, and give the money to the families of the troops hurt or lost in Iraq/Afghanistan.
sounds like a plan to me!!

Perhaps for his next state visit, PM Brown should bring Obama this UK Telegraph article, laminated on a piece of plywood, with this part highlighted in neon pink:
Barack Obama 'too tired' to give proper welcome to Gordon Brown (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/4953523/Barack-Obama-too-tired-to-give-proper-welcome-to-Gordon-Brown.html)

... The real views of many in Obama administration were laid bare by a State Department official involved in planning the Brown visit, who reacted with fury when questioned by The Sunday Telegraph about why the event was so low-key.
The official dismissed any notion of the special relationship, saying: "There's nothing special about Britain. You're just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn't expect special treatment."

I always love it when I see proof I know more about the world then my President. Then again I didn't limit my foreign travel to repressive muslim regimes.

I keep wondering how much Obama could've learned from a British PM about their experience with socialism there.
AND how difficult it was to get out of it - remember 'privatization' ?
Instead he wasted a lot of time with his Irish cousins - the O'Bama clan?
Like someone else said - he doesn't have a clue.
