Everyone, please take a few minutes to FAX, E-mail, Phone, or even write a letter to the Minority member and every Republican member of the Judicial Committee, we need to stop this appointment and all others like it.
On Second Thought, contact every member, who knows we might just find one or two Democrats that have a conscious and will vote to stop the appointment of a Marxist to the federal Bench - one can only hope!!

Barack Obama has selected a leftist, David Hamilton, to be his first nominee for the federal bench. Hamilton is Obama's nominee for a spot on the Seventh CIrcuit Court of Appeals. Appropriately enough, Hamilton reportedly was once a former fund-raiser for the radical activist outfit ACORN, a key Obama ally. He is also a former leader of the Indiana chapter of the ACLU.
Hamilton's record as a federal district judge confirms his ultra-liberalism. Recently, he invalidated a law requiring the registration of sex offenders. He also prevented enforcement of an Indiana law that required information and a waiting period before an abortion. The Seventh Circuit (the court to which Hamilton now has been nominated) found that the law in question was materially identical to a law upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in the Casey decision. It noted that no judge in the land, other than Hamilton, has found such a law invalid since Casey was decided. Apparently, Hamilton did not consider himself bound by decisions of the Supreme Court with which he strongly disagreed.
In addition, Ed Whelan points out that Hamilton somehow managed to invoke the doctrine of substantive due process to suppress evidence of a criminal defendant's possession of cocaine. The Seventh Circuit unanimously reversed that ruling.
Not to worry, though, the New York Times calls Hamilton a "moderate."

Democratics railed against the appointment of judges who displayed sound judicial temperment in that they had never had any decision they rendered reversed by any appelate court. Their record of sound decisions was unblemished. It is no doubt they will find this oft reversed judge of low esteem acceptable.

Elections have consequences.
Y'all lost, got your asses handed to you.
You are currently pushing Arlen Specter towards becoming the 60th Democratic vote in the Senate, sealing your party in the permanent minority so that you couldn't stop judicial appointments if your lives depended on it.
Get back to us when you have a shot at winning an election again, okay?

Arrogant little libbie, aren't you? So proud of your socialist President and Commander in Chief who slaps the military in the face and says the one man in the country to handle Treasury is that tax cheat, the bewildered Geithner. It's no surprise that both Odumbo and Geithner have been given a failing grade by a survey of leading economists.
The former Chicago community organizer and trainer of ACORN is so far over his head. It's pathetic.

That boob is such a gigantic liar. We all recall that during the campaign when McCain said our economy was in a bad mess, but the fundamentals were still strong, Odumbo mocked him over and over again, showing that clip in campaign promotions. He was slammed by all of their cohorts in the mainstream media for that remark, and McCain never heard the end of it.
But just two days ago, Odumbo said the exact same thing, almost word for word, and guess what?.................Our economy is worse now than when McCain made that remark.
This President is either stupid and just says what his teleprompter tells him to say, has selective amnesia, or just doesn't care how stupid he sounds if he feels it's politically expedient to say at the time. In the case of the latter, that indicates he has no respect for the intelligence of his voters because he thinks they won't know or care that he so blatantly lied.

Were there elements in the administration's "green" agenda and in the stimulus package that Obama has been particularly insistent on?
Yes, the smart grid. If we're going to double renewables—it's taken us 35 years to get as many renewables as we have today—if we're going to double that in the near term, part of what we have to be thinking about is how we're going to move those renewables to where the people are, and a smart grid is a piece of that.
What is the genesis of President Obama's thinking on this?
He talked about it during the campaign, and I think what we've been able to do in the stimulus is really fill that out. So, as I said, it's bigger, better, smarter. Bigger means we need the new high-voltage lines for renewables. Better means we need to take our existing lines and upgrade them. And then, smarter: We need to make sure that we're really moving electricity in the smartest way and using the most cost-effective electricity at the right time of day. Eventually, we can get to a system where an electric company will be able to hold back some of the power so that maybe your air conditioner won't operate at its peak, you'll still be able to cool your house, but that'll be a savings to the consumer. And so [we will be] giving people and companies a role in the management of how we use electricity.

I don't get a chance to watch Beck during the week, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if one of those Czars did say that. Somehow, I feel that I'm living in the Twilight Zone. Nothing I hear coming out of Washington, no matter how reprehensible, surprises me with that character at the helm.

Browner: Redder than Obama Knows
Thursday, January 15, 2009 | FoxNews.com (http://www.foxnews.com/)
By Steven Milloy
Incoming White House energy-environment czar Carol Browner was recently discovered to be a commissioner in Socialist International. While that revelation has been ignored by the mainstream media and blithely dismissed by her supporters, you may soon be paying the cost of Browner’s political beliefs in your electricity bill.
Socialist International is precisely what it sounds like -- a decidedly anti-capitalistic political cause. Founded in 1951, its organizing document rails against capitalism, asserting that it “has been incapable of satisfying the elementary needs of the world’s population … unable to function without devastating crises and mass unemployment … produced social insecurity and glaring contrasts between rich and poor … [and] resorted to imperialist expansion and colonial exploitation.…” Socialist International also asserts, “In some countries, powerful capitalist groups helped the barbarism of the past to raise its head again in the form of Fascism and Nazism.” So Socialist International at least partly blames Adolph Hitler on capitalism.
According to its own principles (http://www.socialistinternational.org/viewArticle.cfm?ArticleID=31), Socialist International favors the nationalization of industry, is skeptical of the benefits of economic growth and wants to establish a more “equitable international economic order.” In true Marxist form, it asserts that, “The concentration of economic power in few private hands must be replaced by a different order in which each person is entitled -- as citizen, consumer or wage-earner -- to influence the direction and distribution of production, the shaping of the means of production, and the conditions of working life.”
There’s much more in Socialist International's principles, but you get the idea.

Say wha?? The last thing you want is an appliance, especially any appliance that has an electric motor in it, to NOT work at peak performance. How do I get my hands on the drugs these people are taking?

She's just a dope, she doesn't know how it really works. My current electric company offered to put me on something similar, it sits between your air conditioner and it's power supply and cuts it off for short periods of time during peak. The savings they were offering were peanuts so I told them to take a flying leap.

I have a little trouble with the concept that he doesn't know how socialist she is - although his vetting process seems pretty lame. The simple fact that the organization's web site listed her as one of 14 key members and her name was scrubbed just before he selected her tells me all I need to know. He picked her for a reason.

Actually we have one of those but it's for the whole house and they work great! The electric savings is huge. We moved from a 1500 sq ft gas/electric combo house to a 2800 sq ft all electric with the energy management system. Our electric bill at the larger, older house is less than all the utility bills COMBINED at our old smaller, newer house. We were shocked at the difference in price - I mean we went from 1 gas water heater to 2 electric, 1 gas house heater to 2 electric, 1 ac to 2 ac, gas stove to electric and we are heating/cooling more square footage. We added programmable thermostats as well and the savings is even greater now. the electric company gives us a better rate (peak hour/off peak rates instead of flat) because we have one. That thing is amazing! It came with the house put in by previous owner, but most people recover their costs in the first year or 2. Here is alinky: http://www.dencorinc.com/resident.htm Half our neighborhood has them because they save so much money!
