Shmuel Rabinovitch who is is responsible for religious decorum at the Western Wall, or Pope Benedict?

Seems Rabinovitch doesn't like clergy to wear crosses at the western wall and Benedict has been known to be a pit bull on his issues.

Personally I think Rabinovitch is being an ass, but I'll admit I have a bias.

(OH by the way, When JPII was there a few years back ... he was wearing a cross)

He's looking for his 15 minutes of fame. If he blocks the current Pope from praying at the Western Wall, when John Paul was not, that is saying something.

The Pope is not going to remove his cross, so that is why I say that he will 'win', whether or not he's allowed to pray there.

The Western Wall is either open to all or it is not. I think that the Rabbi has this one wrong. The Pope isn't being disrespectful, he's just being the Pope.

Ironically, if you go into St Peters, no one asks you your religion. You're just asked to dress respectfully (like no shorts). The basic expectation is to be respectful and not act like an ass. 1000s of people go through there every day...
