UNC is the star here, with perennial mid-major darling Gonzaga, iron men Syracuse and the nation's best player in Blake Griffin dragging Oklahoma on his back.

Post your predictions, potential upsets and sleepers here

carowhina MIGHT get to the Sweet 16, but I don't see them going any further.

Depends on who they play and how healthy Lawson is. He makes that team go...no way they lose to FSU if he had played on Saturday.

But if they get to the 2nd weekend and he's not going like he can...I do think Gonzaga could take them out.

True, but this year's ACC tournament was one of the craziest I have ever seen. After all, I never in a million years thought Boston College would even come CLOSE to beating puke, or that FSU would take out carowhina, or even that Georgia Tech would beat Clemson!! If carowhina has an off night this time, with or without Ty, they're done. Of course anyone can take on Hansbrough and beat the daylights out of him, so Lawson is gonna need to be at the top of his game for them to have a prayer.

Like I said...it's going to depend on who they play.

Gonzaga has the bigs to deal with Hansbrough and the guards to hassle Carolina's guards IF they don't have Lawson. But they don't have anyone that can keep up with Lawson if he's there and if he's right.

And I did have an inkling that Georgia Tech would take out Clemson. Watching Clemson fold like a tent is kind of like daylight savings time. You know it's going to happen in March, you're just not sure which weekend it falls on. Last year, they got to the ACC title game, ran UNC to their limit, then got HAMMERED by Villanova in the 1st round of the NCAA's despite near-universal belief that they would be the team to take Kansas out in that region.

I don't know, I think even if Lawson is playing like himself, someone could take him. After all, Wake beat UNC in January and Ty Lawson was on fire that night. Of course Chas McFarland made Hansbrough look like a jr high schooler at best that night!! :))

I would love to see Syracuse make a deep run here. They impressed me a lot with their toughness during the Big East tourney.

As much as I like to say "Gonzaga" (it's just fun...), I think UNC takes them, beating Syracuse in the final. Syracuse had a heckuva run in the Big East, but I don't think they can make it past UNC (or Gonzaga, should they prevail).

I still can't believe Michigan's still in it, albeit barely. Don't understand why they're considered part of the south region either. They play Clemson Thursday. Probably won't win, but it's funny to see them still alive so far.

Same reason that UConn is in the West Region. The selection committee apparently didn't do too well in their geography classes.

Yeah they stuck Wake in the midwest. Obviously geography is NOT the selection committee's strong suit.

It ****es me off that Butler, who was ranked 17th in the nation, gets a #9 seed. That means that even though there were only 16 teams ranked higher than them in the AP poll, a full 32 teams have higher seeds than them. The selection committee has their heads up their butts.

Word is, Lawson will be ready to play Thursday. They'll probably not even play him the first game against Radford, and let him rest up for Saturday.

FWIW...can't remember where I saw it... but UNC is [something like] 22 - 1 for tournament games played in North Carolina.

With 42 teams located east of the Mississippi (and 7 from the ACC), you're lucky they're not in the West.

If fake had taken care of business in the ACC, they'd be in the East (and playing in Greensboro) instead of duke.

They are really good in the tourney in NC...but the regional is in Boston.

I keep hearing all these question marks about their point guard. So I have reluctantly changed my bracket so that I don't have them winning the South anymore. I do have them going to the regional finals though.

Although they won't need Ty Lawson against Radford tomorrow. I've seen Radford play, and I think its safe to say that they suck. Wake stomped them into the ground, I know that.

In my bracket, I got them beating Radford, LSU, and Illinois, all fairly easy matchups, but I got them losing the regional final to Syracuse.

I am liking Oklahoma. I have them facing off N.C., then N.C. going on to the Final Four.

And they will.

Cuz I said so.

Wouldn't it be nice to see the Syracuse Orangemen back on top again after all these years.
They've always been one of those teams you had to beat on the way to the top.
It's about time they made it back.
(Too bad their football team can't do that. They just seem to be ancient history.)

One thing you can always count on is 12/5 upset [or two]

WKy went to the Sweet 16 last year.

Carowhina in the Final Four??? Come on. Sure they slaughtered Radford, but Radford sucks anyway. How they got in the NCAA tournament defies logic. They belonged in the NIT at best. Carowhina might make it a couple more rounds, if that, but there's teams who can give the tarholes a run for their money in the NCAA. Although it was kinda funny to see puke's coach a little bit ticked off after the obamanation picked carowhina to win it all.

I'd be willing to bet they get farther in the tournament than [wake is] FAKE does.

I know, right? What were Obama's other three picks, anyways? 28-4 is nothing to sneeze at, though. I've got worse picks, but I use my heart and not my head.

My pleasure. 38-22 at the half. SFA made a mini run to end it scoring 6 straight. Cuse problems in the paint are still there, muted a little with the opponent being less skilled, but still there. Boeheim didn't look happy at the end of the half/

8 min left Cuse by 21. Flynn is toying with them now. Anyone see the SFA mascot? It's a dude that looks about 6'6" 300 lbs with 2% body fat, dressed like a lumberjack. Holy crap, I think he's there to beat the crap out of Syracuse after the game. Looks like someone from the WWE.
