Is Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show” the next Al Sharpton? Will various celebrities and notable public figures have to appear on Stewart’s Comedy Central show to bare their souls and be publicly humiliated when they make a mistake or are politically incorrect? It’s reminiscent of the public humiliation that King John of England suffered circa 1213 when he had a disagreement with Pope Innocent III over who was to be Archbishop of Canterbury. Are the Court Jesters now in charge of public policy and therefore will dictate who or what is acceptable? Your thoughts, please . . .

oh please, Sharpton isn't ready to quit the scene and Stewart will never approach his audacity and falsehoods, IMO:rolleyes:

Doesn't matter. A lot of his strongly liberal radical opinions are disguised as comedy.

Even though I disagree with Stewart b/c he goes after the right while defending what seems to be a failing Obama economic plan, to compare him to Sharpton is ridiculous.

That would explain why all of the talking points are so laughable.

You are correct, sir.
People should APPLAUD Jim Cramer for using cooperative stock manipulation in order to accrue wealth at the cost of shareholder earnings!
I mean, caveat emptor, guys! If you got screwed by Jim Cramer's tactics, then SHAME ON YOU. If you can manipulate the financial system for financial gain, isn't that just a principle of the free market? [/sarcasm]

The standard line is, “oh it’s just a joke” or “who cares what a comedian says” etc. when someone wants to excuse what a person says from the left.
Why was it so important to the evening news on ABC and CBS for them to devote their air-time on it if it was only a comedian on a comedy show saying it? These supposed “real” news programs are supposed to present the most important news of the day to the masses. Aren’t they?
They are coming at it from the same angle. That’s why I call the old liberal media: The State-Run media(D). Anyone making disparaging remarks of Mr. Obama or his Administration are to be silenced by any means available.
They wish to silence critics by marginalizing them with such pubic humiliation from their front men like Steward or Maher and their ilk.
Al Sharpton was used by the old liberal media to their advantage and he played into their hands to get on air. Stewart is the same in that sense. He has and will continue to be a part of their team(D) and is willing to be a part of the State-Run Media(D).

You don't watch the Daily Show much, do you?
Stewart makes fun of Obama at a much higher frequency than you give him credit for. For instance: The Obama gift of a "dvd box set" to Gordon Brown was ridiculed by Stewart directly, since Brown gave Obama a pencil holder crafted out of timber from an anti-slave ship.

Oh, yeah. Just like SNL has skits about democrats and that somehow makes them less liberal. Where’s John Stossel: “Give me a Break”!
Has Jon Stewart attacked/ridiculed Barney Franks, yet? Has he attacked/ridiculed Chris Dodd, yet?
No. Jon Stewart and his Daily Show are as far left as can be and are part of the State-Run Media(D).

Jon Stewart also treated Mrs. Cheney like a queen. Clearly biased.

Uh hum, and just what does she have to do with the controversy over Cramer or CNBC or the current economic “crisis” that the Democrats somehow had nothing to do with even though it was under their leadership that caused things to be as they are?
Oh, oh…that’s right. Jon Stewart is fair and balanced just like Saturday Night Live is. Wow, Comedy Central isn't bias...no....Viacom isn't bias...no...NBC isn't biased either. Gee, they even go after their own man.

Your premise was that Jon Stewart did not attack certain individuals and displayed bias towards them based on the mewlings of his corporate overlords.
Is that also the case with his polite dealings with Lynne Cheney?

I saw Stewart's interview with Cramer (on Hulu HERE (http://www.hulu.com/watch/62203/the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart-thu-mar-12-2009)) and thought he did a pretty good job of representing us common folks' increasing discomfort with the whole insiders feel of Wall Street. That is, and Stewart states this towards the end, it seems that the money guys are just playing games with OUR money, pocketing profits and sticking us with the losses (and now using bail out money to pay themselves the profits the missed with the recent downturn).
Yes, he generally panders to his mostly liberal audience, and makes comical statements to keep it entertaining, but he does make a lot of sense and appeals to the common folks.
