Meh.... who cares.... ;)
I'm one of those who believes not every sport needs to be internationalized.

I enjoy the WBC, and am happy that the Netherlands knocked off all the Dominican Big Shots. Am going for the US tomorrow. I do hope that the US Big Shots don't get knocked off.

I actually tried to start a thread four times, and for some reason I couldn't get it to go through (bad connection at work this week)

The half-European, half-Caribbean team (Aruba, Curacao, et al) beat the best of the Caribbean.
And remember the Little League title has been Dutch in recent years with Curacao. Seems a new Caribbean force is there, along with Dutch native Bert Blyleven coaching pitchers and ex-Tennessee (NCAA) Rod Delomonico as head coach (2 SEC titles, 2 CWS appearances in his 18 years). 12 of the 26 players are from the Caribbean, one is born in Canada to a Dutch mother, and 13 are from the motherland.

According to a report (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/baseball/mlb/03/14/pedroia.hurt/index.html)by Sports Illustrated writer Tom Verducci, Dustin Pedroia was injured during a workout at the WBC in Miami on Friday.
Verducci reports that Pedroia is heading back to Fort Myers, Fla., to be examined by team doctors. He apparently strained a muscle near his rib cage.
We'll get you more when it is available.

Really? That's too bad. Frankly, I think that's where it belongs.

I really haven't had much deasire to hear it. The only think that caught my eye about this thins is about Maggs getting booed because he is buddies with Hugo Chavez. Ya all know that I love Maggs, but truth be told I was rather disappointed that I heard that they friends. :(
